Report 5 - March 2008 (1)Entry #573170
The Oscar Report – Issue 5: March 4th 2008

Food bowl: empty coz I just ate!
Water bowl: half empty (the other half I dribbled onto the floor!)
Number of accidents: no accidents, I am all grown up, you know!
Number of no-no’s: One: I went upstairs though I am not allowed
Latest discovery: I can jump the stair gate to get upstairs!

Would you believe my 1st birthday came and went without anyone noticing! Well, ok, so they were busy with Nathalie’s party that they were kinda distracted but I still couldn’t help feeling a tad miffed. But I can’t stay grumpy for long, and when they all came home I bounced up and down, wagging my tail and everyone was really pleased to see me - so of course I was pleased too! The only trouble is, when I get excited I can’t help but drip a few drips of wee, apparently all pups do this but still it’s embarassing! And yes, although I am 1 now, I am still a pup, Mummy Annie says so.

The day after my birthday – Sunday – Neil, Thorsten and Nathalie took me and my best pal Coffey to the beach for a lovely walk and play. It was a beautiful, crisp, sunny but cold day in the last weekend of February and it was simply magic. They brought a couple of balls for Coffey and I to fetch but somehow one of the balls got lost in the bushes – Coffey and I just couldn’t find it no matter how much we sniffed and scoured. Anyway, we had our sandy paws wiped and drove home soon after that and I just zonked out and slept until it was time to eat.

While Mummy Annie went to pick Nathalie up from the after school club today, I ventured up to the top of the stairs. A few months ago they put something up called a stair gate to stop me from getting into the bedrooms (I do like to chew Nathalie’s toys and any stray socks I find lying around) and since then, I’ve not been able to get to the 1st floor. However today I decided to test my strength and see if I couldn’t get to the other side of the gate. So I gathered all my strength and did a giant leap and WOW! I made it!!! I had a sniff around but was very good, didn’t chew a thing. I just laid down on some of Nathalie’s washing and went to sleep – I couldn’t get back down, you see! Well, Mummy Annie was none too pleased with me when she got back so I am now officially in the doggy house. *sniff* I guess that means no treats for me today!

Oh whooo!! I just ate my dinner and it was my favourite flavour canned stuff, yummy lamb and beef. I guess Mummy Annie wasn’t too mad at me after all! Smile

Lots of woofs - Oscar xox

Author note: this is the first report of 2008 and the first I have sent to my new chemo buddy, Isabel. Watch out for more reports - I will try and write these as frequently as possible
