Our vacation--- Check out the new slideshow!
Current mood: indescribable

We left for our vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks on Tuesday morning as soon as I got off work. I won't bore you with the little details of the entire week. It was great though! The first day, we got there before Christina, Shannen, and the boys so we set up camp and milled around. I checked every five minutes to see if the next car to come down the road was theirs. Finally, I saw a rainbow license plate shining like the North Star coming. I felt like a little kid. I just wanted to run to the car before it was even stopped so that I could hug and kiss the family I so anxiously awaited to see. Even though this was the first time we all met in person, it didn't feel like it at all. We hugged, kissed, and just reunited. It was like an Oprah show. We all went to bed at a decent hour and the next day we spent at the lake. The water was clear and beautiful and Jaron and I swam all the way out to an island that was in the middle of the lake. We climbed the rocks to get on the island and named it Rainbow Island. We staked our territory and everyone from then on referred to it as Rainbow Island. We are explorers.

The days were spent with the boys playing, all of us touring, activities, cooking, and fun. The nights were spent sitting around campfires talking, having a few drinks, and attempts of keeping it down for other campers to sleep being unmet. The last night, Shannen, Christina, and I sat around talking until around 3:30 or 4:00am. It was awesome. We never run out of things to talk about and the connection between us in incredible. They are family and I'm so proud to call them MY family. Our sleep schedules were screwed up, it rained one of the days, we had horrible eating habits, and you put 6 boys and 4 dykes together and you are bound to get some commotion. It was beautiful.

I love you Shannen, Christina, Jaron, Seth, and Jacob. Thank you for giving us a memorable time and giving the boys someone to talk non stop about it all the way back to St. Joe. We miss you horribly already and are planning our next reunion with you!!

BTW- the ONLY reason, ONLY, that I was anxious to get back home on the last day was because I missed my little Princess Adamma. All the kitties were fine although Smokey and Toby are now mad at us for leaving them. There is a conspiracy and they are not speaking to us. Ah, well. Gotta give up some love from the cats for a couple days to have love from family, it's worth it.

Shannen

Well...I'll just have to say that it was a vaction none of us will ever forget...We had a great time...I don't know what part was the best...all of the kids running around playing with their cousins like it was something they had been doing for years or the quiet time between the adults drinking and roasting marshmellow. I think all around it was amazing...Can't wait to see you guys again...I love you all...
