Interview
Current mood: determined

I have been looking for a new job recently. When we first moved to St. Joe in December, I applied for jobs and didn't get any responses or interviews and was reduced to working for Choices in St. Joe. It's not that Choices is a bad company necessarily, it's just that I don't agree with how they do things here. Besides a big, big factor is that I took a HUGE paycut coming from KC to St. Joe. We're talking almost cutting my pay in half. I may not think a lot about myself at all times but I know that I am worth more than I am making. By far. I have years and years of experience in several fields, a degree, and several certifications. ANYWAY, I digress.

After things started getting worse for Michelle at work and she is really at the point that she would like to quit or at least work as regular staff opposed to the managerial position she holds now, for the stress factor, I decided to try and find another job again. It has to be decent money because Michelle makes more than I do and we owe the company money that we borrowed and have to pay them back. So, a couple of weeks ago, I put in applications and resumes for four main positions (four positions in St. Joe is actually pretty good. Not a big job market unless you are a mechanic or a driver). One of those positions was at the Juvenile Detention Center in Atchison for Juvenile Correction Officer. This is one of the few things I've never done before. But, it doesn't mean that I'm not qualified otherwise. Just inexperienced thus far. Anyway, I took the state test about a week ago and you had to get an 80o pass it and be considered for an interview. I got a 94ænbsp; Yea, me! She called me today and set up an interview for next Thursday at 2:30pm. I really want this. I think I could do this job well and it would be a new experience. Plus, it would most certainly pay better and maybe enough that Michelle can quit her job for awhile, which is what I'm praying for. I know that it's kind of a long shot for me having no direct experience but I'm hoping that they'll give me a chance.

Please send some strong good vibes and prayers my way so that maybe my family can have a little less stress in our life.

Peace,

Angie
