"Paul! Did you see that?"
"See what?"
"The sign we just passed. It changed as we drove by!"
"Wait, what sign?"
"The 'Welcome to Aria' sign. It said 'Population 2002', but as soon as we got near it, it changed to '2009'!"
"Honey, we've been driving for 16 hours, you're just seeing things."
"No no no, it can't just be that! I swear I saw it change! Stop the car right now! Something is wrong, can't we at least just take a look at it again?"
"Okay fine, but after we see it, we're going straight home."

The couple turned around and drove back up to the sign.

"See? It's now 2009! We have to tell someone! Something seems wrong about this. Please Paul, PLEASE! ...Wait, what are you looking at? Paul, tell me, what's wrong? PAUL!"

Two gun shots resounded as the vehicle flew off the cliff into the water below. The couple was never heard from again.
