The Lannet is another poetry form I found on www.shadowpoetry.com.
The Lannet was created by Laura Lamarca and is a form of a sonnet.
The Lannet form consists of:

~~14 lines
~~10 syllables per line – simple syllabic meter is sufficient - stressed-meter (iambic, etc is not required)
~~ No end-line rhyming is required, however
~~ internal rhyming is permitted.
~~ A specific stanza requirement is not stated.


Following is a Lannet poem I wrote; I combined the requirements of the Lannet form into an acrostic poem and also employed alliteration.



Wind-borne


Countless voices echo, distorted words
Ambiguously rebound - clamorous
Noise; arduous sounds drown out the earnest
Yearning to hear the whispers in the wind.
Opague, blurred utterances ramble, a
Nemesis to quietness longingly
Sought amid songs chanting in the breezes.

Obscure, relentless, this endless buzzing!
Fervently, my soul solicits console.

Nature, “the art of God eternal,” calls
Out faintly from faraway hills; her charms
Ignite my restlessness. Her arms offer
Solace where the canyon’s shrill echoes flee,
Eradicated by wind-borne whispers.
