Debating SchoolEntry #631066
My education was so different from today's. There was no ISTEP. There wasn't the boundaries there are now - you just went to whatever school was closest. In Florida, if you weren't 5 by October of the year, you had to wait til the next year. In California it's a year round school. Due to my birthday, I was almost a year behind my peers when I started kindergarten. Even Magnet schools are different here - down south they were for kids who needed more challenges, up here they're specialized schools devoted to certain disciplines.

Now I'm exploring options for Libby to enter preschool. The best school in town for it is a bit expensive at $2600 for 10 months. But I figure if I'm going to pay $150 a month for daycare, I should probably pay the extra $110 for the extra education. The only difference is the number of hours. It's 3 hours a day for 3 days. This would have the additional benefit of giving me time in the morning for work. It would be a very similar schedule to my RVP. The expense concerns me but if it gets her started right with her education.

I can't believe it's already here and I'm realizing just how ill prepared I am for her to grow up so fast. This is going to be a complete schedule change too and require more adapting. I can only imagine how she'll grow and change as a result. What an exciting future awaits her!
