It's amazing to me every day when I think of how quickly Libby is growing. She'll be 2 on the 28th and it's astonishing to me. I can picture her sweet face as she breastfed and gradually fell back asleep in my arms every night for two months. I can remember all her firsts: smile, tooth, word (pretty), laugh (on Mother's Day 2007), crawl, and steps. She climbs in and out of her car seat and I get tears in my eyes. How did this amazing toddler get here, seemingly without even asking for my permission?

Don't get me wrong, here is where I hope my parenting skills will emerge. I'm comfortable with 2 1/2 year olds. Having an infant was almost terrifying on a daily basis. Not because I was afraid I would hurt her but because I was afraid I'd do the wrong thing. Did that cry mean hunger or tired? Or something else? My biggest issue now is going to be finding the time and energy to play with and entertain a very active 2 year old. I can't wait for spring so I can take her to the park and just let her run and tumble and swing and slide and meet new little friends. She's already got cabin fever so bad she can barely wait to get her clothes on enough to go outside. She hates putting on her shoes and coat and I'm sure she'd much rather just run outside. She can't wait to see the sun, the sky, the trees, and to go places, even if it's just to the store. She hates to be confined in any way.

That'll make our California trip exhausting because there's a lot of sit around and wait. I'm hoping that she'll enjoy the trip but I'm nervous. Nervous for her and very nervous for me. I haven't seen these people in eleven years. And I just hope everything goes nice and smoothly.

I've got lots going on and unfortunately that means another shift in priorities. Mainly I'm going to have to take another hiatus from WDC. I simply don't have time or energy right now for writing stuff. And I mean at all. I spent all day in the office yesterday doing securities training and didn't get home til 6:30. I have evening appointments at least 3 - 4 times a week with a few daytime appointments where I can fit them. Things are seriously ramping up and I think for the next six months to a year I need to give this everything I've got. My time management skills are good but they're not good enough to compensate for negative time. So I'm going to work on my reviews that I owe through the review forum and then take a hiatus toward the end of the week. I think everyone needs to do that periodically anyway to avoid getting burned out. I've been pretty steadily on here for the last eight weeks and now I'm ready for a bit of a break. Because regardless, there is a certain pressure to be online for some things and doing reviews. Fortunately there's not a big issue if you're less active than normal.
