Coraline by Neil GaimanEntry #638542
Genre: Juvenille Fiction

Summary: Coraline Jones is bored. So she opens a door that leads to nowhere, only to find that it does, in fact lead to somewhere. It leads to her other life, a life that her Other Mother doesn't want her to leave. The best way to keep her there, of course, is to kidnap her real parents and never let her go. But Coraline must find her parents and get back home.

Why I Picked It Up: I mentiond wanting to read this before going to see the movie and a friend of mine pretty much thrust it into my hands and said, "Get reading."

My Opinion: For a novel that is so down-played and childlike, it is terrifingly creepy. I feared that I might have nightmares, but I couldn't keep myself from reading. It was so unique and interesting. Neil Gaiman is just too awesome. He is the next big thing, I know it.

My Rating: Five Stars
