Winter's Tale, The by ShakespeareEntry #641939
Genre: Drama

Summary: Shakespeare was by far the Jerry Springer of his time. I mean, come on, a play about a jealous king who suspects his wife of carrying his best friend's baby? Drama! So what happens to said king? Well, he sentances his child to death. The only problem is, she gets taken in and turns into a beautiful healthy woman...until her fiance's father banishes her! Oops.

Why I Picked It Up: I recently joined a Shakespeare Book Club. This is our first play.

My Opinion: Well...it certainly wasn't Will's best. I have read better by him. I thought it was really pretty good, up until the end. I'm not sure I fully understand what exactly happened. It was really weird.

My Rating: Four Stars
