I want to rise,
from this place,
where I have fallen,
but you hold me down.
I want to stand,
for all that's forgotten,
and live a pure life again,
but you continue to remind me.
I want to live,
in the sunlight,
with warmth on my skin,
but you continue to shadow me.
I want to fly,
to soar above it all,
to leave the valley below,
but you have caged me.
I want to love,
openly and deeply,
with all that I am inside and out,
but you have abused me.
I want to rise,
from this place,
where I have fallen,
and so You help me to.
I want to stand,
for all that's forgotten,
and live a pure life again,
and so You cleanse me.
I want to live,
in the sunlight,
with warmth on my skin,
and so You shine over me.
I want to fly,
to soar above it all,
to leave the valley below,
and so You give me eagle's wings.
I want to love,
openly and deeply,
with all that I am inside and out,
and so You show me love.
Jesus,
my beloved, precious Jesus,
thank You for breaking the chains,
thank You for setting me free.
