Going back to SchoolEntry #645602
My best friend is returning to school for her psychology degree and that gave me the idea that maybe I should go back to school too. That maybe now was the perfect opportunity for me to pursue my biggest dream which is to be published. I would love to be able to write - maybe not full-time but at least regularly and have my work published. But I think I've reached the point where I can't really learn the rest of it in self-study. There are techniques and skills in writing that I need to be mentored through. And considering the volume of financial aid I qualify for as a single mother, there's no reason not to go back anymore.

So I've spent the last week trying to figure out the courses I want to take and what the degree requirements are. I have to take 124 credits, of which I have 34 (if they all transfer). I'm so bummed - it's going to take forever! But at least if I can take some creative writing courses, then I will be learning something useful. And if it takes me the next 10 years of taking 2 classes each semester (Spring & Fall), then so be it. As long as I'm making progress toward my degree then I'll still be able to get financial aid. And really, I'm not in a big hurry to get the degree - I want the knowledge and that's the whole reason I'm doing it. Regardless, I'm very excited about the courses - I'll be taking a LOT (and I mean like at least 50 credit hours) of writing and literature related courses, which should help my writing a great deal.
