MentalEntry #666038
I was asleep when they came, just like every other day. There wasn't much to do in a padded room. They watched me for a moment, in their white coats, a huge contrast to the dirty jacket that stretched across my chest.

"You know, this jacket is pretty uncomfortable." I looked up at the two male "doctors" that visited me.

Dr. Walker, the one who I knew sympathized, smirked at me. Dr. Roberts, however, wasn't amused. He narrowed his eyes and squatted in front of me. His spectacle-covered eyes fixed on mine. "How long are we going to do this? How long are you going to try and hide them from us? You know where they are. Where are they?"

My mind flashed to the woman and her daughter, running from the law, the people who wanted to contain them, control them, experiment on them. I thought about our first night together. The look in her eyes as she put her hand in mine and looked into my mind would forever haunt me.

Roberts' sharp voice caught my attention. "Where did they go?" he shouted in my face, his face red with anger.

         "I don't remember."

Walker snickered, but Roberts lashed out and punched me in the mouth.

My first reaction was to reach up and soothe the spot, but as I went to do so, I remembered the state of my canvas-tangled arms. I took a deep breath and watched him stand to leave.

Once the door closed behind them again, I fell on my back and thought about her eyes again, this time the way they looked when she left, just before the FBI came knocking.

With that, I turned over and went back to sleep.
