Hello and welcome to _____Entry #684087
Hello and welcome to _____, my name is _____. Can I help you place an order today? Ok, great may I have your customer number, it is at the back of your catalog in the blue box. Thank you Mr/Mrs ___________ will you verify your address and phone number for me. Is there a email address that I can send your order confirmation to?

Thank you. May I now how your source code in the yellow box at the back of the catalog? Will you be using your _____ credit card today? What is the first item number that you'll be ordering today?

This is the script that I'll be using in the first few minutes of every phone call I answer at my new job. This is probably the easiest part of my job since I only have to type in a few numbers and hit either <enter> or <f6>. From this moment on the order is live and I have to accept order numbers, answer questions and attentively listen to banter from customers on a wide variety of topics which may or may not cover the items in the catalog. After taking their orders then I have to remember to offer them priority protection for them to receive their items in a timely manner, offer them a rewards program exclusive to my company and offer them magazine subscriptions. There is also credit card applications, upsells and cross sells that I need to also remember to offer and I also need to remember how to add them to the customers orders and how to arrange for payment and express shipping.

Before taking this job I thought telemarketing jobs were easy; I didn't see the challenges in it. I figured the hardest part was getting someone to listen to your spiel and order your products. I didn't look at the computer part of it and now I feel this job is something that will keep my mind busy and my sense of humor in check.
