“Justice delayed is justice denied.”
“Justice delayed is justice denied.”

~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Can anyone write a poem, prose, essay or short story demonstrating how waiting denies justice? The movie "Philadelphia" comes to mind. Disability claims processing another. How about innocent people being imprisoned most of their life? Apologies for genocide? There are many more...

Can you justify (interesting context to use this word) delaying justice? Obviously many can. Can you write from that point of view even if you disagree?

*Note3* Other writers say...

Patricia Smith recites "34". This very strong poem about Katrina is moving and painful and shows what poetry can do:

*Note3* Thou:

Spoke to Iowegian Skye by phone about visiting Des Moines on a weekend before February. Dates are not set yet. Places I may travel through: Bozeman, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Colorado, Kansas (visiting friends in Emporia and Lawrence). Oklahoma, Illinois and Missouri are less likely.

I'll tell everyone when I know. I'm open to suggestions until then. *Bigsmile*

*Note3* Me and Mine:

Scored a small television with vcr that was abandoned in the hallway; it fits above my refrigerator *Cool*. I started watching the movie "Rouge" (Red).

Finally drank some rooibus (red tea of South Africa, Aspalathus linearus).

*Reading* Poet's Choice edited by Paul Engle, it includes the favorite poems and the commentary of the writer of over 100 poets from the mid 1900s. Did you know that Elizabeth Bishop's "The Man-Moth" is so titled because of a typo? It originally was "mammoth".

*Note3* Missoula: sunny! 31º at 10 a.m. Montana Standard Time.
