Chapter 20
Pagamon glared angrily at Evokia from his chair. He thrust a scrap of cloth at her and growled, “You will do the show now.”

“He will be suspicious.”

“So be kinky. Tie him to the bed and rape him for all I care. Just put on a good show for me.”

Evokia was forced to change hurriedly into the negligee that covered nothing and was forcibly thrown into the cell by one of the guards.

Her gaze darted around the room. There were two walls of mirrors, both of them two-way no doubt. A four poster bed with a sky blue canopy was in the center of the room. She wondered how many of Pagamon’s friends were watching her right now. A blurred black mass streaked toward her and knocked her to the ground. The momentum crashed her head into the door she had been thrown through. She grunted from the impact.

“Ow you jerk. You’re hurting me.” She pushed at him, feigning less strength then she possessed.

“Who the hell are you and what are you doing here?”

His breath stirred her hair by her ear and her breath caught. “Kia, I’m Kia. They threw me in here but didn’t explain much.” She wanted to appear like a helpless female but was unsure how much to push her acting. If she started sobbing, he might think it over the top. As she calculated her next move, he stood and offered her his hand.

“I’m Andy. Sorry about tackling you but I thought you had come here to drain me or something. But judging from your outfit, they had their fun with you already. Did you hear anything?”

Evokia felt a pang of regret for deceiving this man, whatever type of creature he might be. He seemed intelligent. “All I heard was that we are to die sometime tonight.” She was taken by his emerald green eyes that were the exact shade that Trojan’s had been and she had to stifle a sob.

He wrapped an arm around her and held her close. It was a comforting gesture, one that Trojan would have done. She could feel his eyes roaming over her state of undress.

“I can’t believe they dressed me in this.”

“You look a little cold to me. I could wrap the blanket around you if you’d like.”

“If we are to die, I would like to feel like a woman not an object.”

“I could make you feel like a woman.” His voice deepened. “How long do you think we have?”

“They said two or three hours when they were talking but I don’t know how long ago that was.”

“It’ll be long enough.”

He turned her toward his chest and pressed the length of her against him. It was hard for her to remember this man wasn’t Trojan. He looked and smelled like him too, but she had never been this close to Trojan. She had never run her hands over his bare chest as she was doing now. He had never ripped the clothes off of her either. Andy s panting and Evokia realized she was as well. There was a brief flicker of uncertainty as she remembered that Pagamon was watching but it was forgotten as Andy laid her onto the bed.

Andy’s last thrust toppled her over the edge as he exploded inside of her and in her passion; she nipped his neck hard enough to draw blood. When his eyes focused on her again they were suspicious.

“You’re one of them.”

“What them?”

“You’re one of the blood sucking scum that trapped me here.”

“No, I’ve been pushed into this situation as much as you.”

He lifted his hand and touched his neck. He held up his blood smeared fingers accusingly.

“I am a vampire, a recently turned vegetarian vamp. I’m sorry I did that it’s just...” She blushed and looked away.

“I think I should be flattered but I’m still confused. Why would you be here?”

So Evokia told him the story of her life, she did not leave out the detail of how much he looked like Trojan.

“I’ve been stuck in this glamour. They tricked me into changing into this form and then drugged me so I couldn’t change. I’m fae; I was out on the hunt when they captured me. What is going to happen now?”

“Well, Pagamon said I could keep you as a pet if I desired so we’ll play that angle. I’ll accept his offer and take you home. You’ll be free leave as soon as you see fit.”

“And what if he decides he has changed his mind, what do you plan to do then?”

“Oh, I’ve got that covered too.” Evokia smiled wickedly.

They were left alone in the room for hours before a guard informed them they were being held pending trial. Evokia advanced on the guard and demanded a meeting with Pagamon. Clearly uneasy, the guard denied her and scurried from the room. Evokia began to pace the room with the comforter from the bed wrapped around her. They hadn’t even sent her clothes. She was fuming silently when Andy spoke.

“Well, looks like you really are a prisoner.”

“We shouldn’t be locked up waiting for a trial. Pagamon’s trials are a mockery. If he thinks you are useable he gives a not guilty. I will not be in his debt for some made up charges.”

“I’m going to be in someone’s debt unless I am killed outright.”

“I said I’m going to get you out of here and I will. That was a promise and I don’t go back on my promises. Now be quiet and let me think how to get out of here.”

The door opened again half an hour later. Xeron stepped into the room with clothes for Evokia. He was frowning.

“Evokia Nightsbane, you have been summoned by your Prince. Your audience is immediately.” He tossed the clothes at her and turned his back so she could change. She slid into the skin tight black leather pants and the blood red tank that exposed her flat stomach, clothes that had obviously been picked out by Pagamon himself. Although, she wondered how the outfit would look with her leather trench coat over it. Sexy and a little scary. If she lived through this she would have to try the new look.

“Ready.” She motioned for Andy to follow her.

Xeron raised an eyebrow and she just smiled back. “Come, your Prince awaits.”

“Why have you brought this lowly worm before me? I summoned Evokia not this thing. Take it to the slaughter house where it can be rendered more useful.”

“All respect, but this thing is now my pet by your own permission.” Evokia stepped forward keeping herself between any that might try to carry out Pagamon’s order.

“Impossible. I agreed to no such thing.”

“Oh, shall I replay our conversation where you promised to grant me the right to make him my pet?”

“Replay?” Pagamon echoed angrily. His face paled with rage as his eyes narrowed. “Do you record our conversations?”

“Yes. With my past do you blame me?” She had decided to be blunt and unbending in this instance. If she couldn’t make him see how willful she was and if she was unable to keep her promise to Andy, then she would never be allowed close enough to Pagamon so she could get her information about Darya.

Xeron quickly stepped forward and whispered in Pagamon’s ear. Pagamon relaxed and smiled. Evokia felt her stomach heave just looking at him. “Go, then, and get your rest. Take your… possession with you.”

As Evokia turned to stalk out of the room, she caught a glimpse of emotion in Pagamon’s eyes. It looked like fear.
