Just popping in on our way to Tyler for treatment. Don't have but a minute, but we've had some good news, so I thought I report that for a change! lol

Friday at the Scleroderma specialist, they took measurements and did samples on her skin spots, and..they seem to be inactive for the moment. Either the phototherapy sessions are working or the meds or a combo of both or whatever...but they are not spreading for once, since this whole thing started. Her immune system has suddenly stopped mass producing the collegen. So, come Jan 1st, they are stopping the phototherapy treatments for the month and then seeing her in February to see if the inactive state has held, or if it's kicked back in to gear. Her body needs a break from the treatments every so often anyway, so this is a good time to do it. Hopefully, this will hold for a bit. AND...that's 300+ miles a week doing the three round trips to Tyler, so that will knock 1200 miles a month off of our travelling! *Bigsmile*

Plus...Monday at the Gastro specialist, she's gained a little bit of weight back. Only four pounds, but four pounds is four pounds! :) She's still got to have upper and lower GI's so they can make sure she's not bleeding from anywhere and also to have a baseline for later scans, because her blood is showing her very anemic, and they suspect something's up in the digestive system, but she is holding down food a bit better, and she's gained for once and not lost. So, that counts in the plus catagory!

So, grins and giggles.

I'm off for Tyler...

Whoevery bought me the raffle ticket, I hope blessings bounce back to you tenfold! *Bigsmile*

peace

Has anyone heard from Bruce? I keep calling him but get no answer. Cell phone service was "all circuits are busy" for a while before the worst hit, then nothing but ringing with no answer after that. I'm very worried about him...

Don't have time to make a post that's much of anything right now, but a quick update to let those who are asking know I'm ok...and we survived Ike!

It was terrible and I was scared to death, but we are grateful to have gotten through with as little damage as we did. I've got a tons of pics and videos to upload to show, but I can't do it yet.

We had trees down, 60mph sustained winds with gusts up to 83mph here for about nine hours straight here, and we had one HUGE tree fall.

The base of the tree was 7ft 3in around, and it was 75-78 feet tall, but it missed the house!! Scariest noise I've ever heard in my life! Lost tons of limbs and such, and the yard looked like a tornado hit it, but no animal or human was hurt and that's what's important. Cars all survived as well.

I'll try to have the pics and vids up in a bit. We are all fine... We were without power for right at 30 hours, but that's less time than expected and less time than many have had to deal with!

Thanks for the emails and thoughts! I'm very thankful we got by as good as we did!

P.S. Heard from Bruce/Gali...he's ok. Still without power and lots of tree damage, but all ok. Whew. That 30 hours without power had my mind a whirling. *Pthb* Trying to get my pics on here to show...:)

If you are in the Follow the Leader contest...don't read the below entry! Unless you are perhaps, Jenn, Spidey, Paige or a judge. If you are not in the contest feel free to read. lol

I'm making this post to push that entry down some, to help with the temptation of some who might be in the contest and come to my blog and have problems trying not to read any of the ordinal entries before yours. *Laugh*

PUSH, PUSH, PUSH!!!! Go down blog entry....go down!!

And the Follow The Leader journal contest is open for another round! For any who haven't tried it, it's very entertaining and thought-provoking. Come on and sign up. It's different and sometimes you need something different to rattle your box.

It's very basic. Each person is assigned a day to lead with an entry, but other than that, you have until the end of the contest to do a following lead on all of the other contestants' leading entries. Harmless. You can write anything you want. *Smile*

Do it! Seize the day! *Bigsmile*

Are you kidding me? 400 million dollars for eight more years!???

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/03/business/03radio.php

I keep thinking if I look hard enough, I'll see some signs that the world hasn't gone completely insane, but the harder I look, the more depressing the view.

I'm in the wrong business. I need a big mouth and an addiction. Ok, I have both of those, so I guess it's not that alone.

What is it? Why are we living in a society where some big corporation would be willing to shell out 400 million to keep Rush for eight more years?

I'm spending a lot of time at the courthouse lately. Saturday, with the state delegate thing, I was there from 9:30 until almost three. Today, I'm called to serve on the grand jury. I know what a grand jury does, but I'm getting conflicting stories about how long they serve. If it's an all day thing, or several day thing, and one person has even suggested that the grand jury selected has to serve for three months. Not sure. Guess I'll find out.

I though I had an out...since I know someone who is due to be going before the grand jury soon, but yet another opinion has been given on that.

T says when he served on the grand jury, they came in, walked up to the first twelve people sitting in the seats and said "Congrats, you're the new grand jury!" If that's the case, I'm doomed because they sit you by jury number, and I'm jury number 2!

I'll be willing to bet I don't squirm out of this so easy. I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that I'll be excused because I know one of the acused who's facing a grand jury. Although, this is a small town. The odds of finding twelve people who don't know any of the people involved in any of the cases may be pretty slim.

That's my normal odds I work with, though. Pretty slim.

Ok, I'm woefully behind on the Follow the leader contest! I'm going to try to do a couple a day to catch up. It's helped that so many have not done their leading entries, I suppose. I've never seen a round with this much confusion. *Pthb*

During the storms, apparently, our modem fried and the repairman just got out here this morning to fix whatever the hell was wrong. Being without internet for two days has bit!

I'm behind and I hate to be behind, and it's a holiday weekend and people are coming from all over.

Can I be rude and ignore them and play on the internet.

I think I shall.

It's snowing! *Delight*

It's been snowing every since I woke up at 6am! Two hours of snow pouring down from the sky!!! It's sticking a little bit, but they are saying it's not going to stick long.

I vaguely remember it snowing enough to stick once, way back when I was in fifth or sixth grade. It lasted a day or two back then, I think. Other than that time, I've only ever seen it sprinkle snow a few minutes here and there, over the years.

I've never had the chance to watch it come down and see it piling up on the ground. It's snowing hard! It's soft and beautiful and I hope it defies the predictions and stays for a while.

It's SNOWING! I'm giddy!

I let S stay home from school and we're going to build something in the snow. My first snow angel is quite impressive, if I do say so myself! *Laugh*

Revel in the snowdom.

And today is my oldest child's birthday! She's 22 today, and I'm just now starting to see that she's getting an inkling that I'm not as stupid as she once thought. You know, back when she got her driver's license and knew everything! *Laugh*

My baby is 22. I'm knocking on 40....

Time is marching on....

I think I'll call in to the radio station and sing happy birthday to her! That should sufficiently embarrass her! lol

Happy days to all
