                                      Lorna's Life and Times

I am a romantic at heart.  I love the classic songs and quite a few of the new ones, like Boy George, John Mellencamp and Journey.  I was 19 before I made love, and he was gentle and sweet and five years older than I was.

Glory Road
A story of the first time.
by Lorna Dune

Now I am with the man of my dreams, we help each other and that is the foundation of our relationship.  I love him deeply and I accept the fact that he has MS just as he accepts that fact that I have back and memory problems.  We where friends first, so the foundation is solid.

"This Girl Is A Woman Now"
By Gary Puckett and the Union Gap

Then one night, her world was changed,
her life and dreams were rearranged,
and she would never be the same again.

This girl tasted love, as tender as the
        chance of dawn.
Our hearts told her we were right,
and on that sweet and velvet night,
a child had died and a woman had
        been born.

This girl is a woman now, she’s
        learned how to give……”

I write my blog as a memory tool and to remind myself of just how very short life can be.

12.  No sleepID #519278

Don't know why, but I couldn't sleep last night. I got interested in the games and game badges at pogo.com and just stayed up all night. Haven't slept since Tuesday night now, but I don't feel tired. I did lay down for an hour and just closed my eyes, but I couldn't fall asleep. Spent this afternoon doing some reviews and really enjoying what I found. Stayed home for the 4th, I really don't like crowds at all and crowded streets, so that was the norm for me.

11.  Still a bad weekID #516638

Edited: 6-21-2007 @ 11:00 pm EDT

Paid a bill on Monday for some blood work, cholesteral, etc. and the receptionists had only been working for the Dr. for three months, I found out later, and didn't know that there were files from the year before and told me they didn't do any blood work. So I called the company and relayed what I was told, no blood work done.

Well the bill was correct, but the two parties really drug me over the coals. Why is it that no one bothers to earn the money they are paid to work their job anymore??????????? The way that they acted I was a fool to have paid the bill and that I'd been scammed. All parties apologized but that is no reason to drive the patient/consumer crazy. This whole week has been like that, having to fight everyone and everything because they fall down on the job.

SSI lost another file so I start all over from zero again when they should be paying me from March of 2000. So I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop and someone else to mess with my head. Not a lot of public offices left to show their incompetence, since pretty much all of them have fallen down on the job this year from the Post Office to Social Security for SSI.

We, as taxpayers, should have a way to make this stop. One or two mistakes should be all they get, not unlimited numbers without any consequences.

10.  Still in a lot of painID #515675

Slept off and on for the last 48 hours, no desire for food either. Makes me snappy and I snapped at Bob too much. Have to get in a few heartfelt "I'm sorry's" out today for acting and talking from the pain. This pain is really hard on me, no sense in taking it out on Bob. Need to make him realize that.

My mother was a War Bride and Australia has a new policy in effect of granting the citizenship back that the brides gave up to became American citizens, They are offering dual citizenship to the children also. Have to do some checking on this, make sure I meet the provisions. Sure would be different!

8.  Still having painID #515250

Felt better last night than I do today. Taking the pain pills, (eating to control the stomach upset), and the meds to control the back spasms. Just wish I could get rid of the horrible headache I have now. Guess I am in a waiting game now, see the Dr. this coming Weds. and hope the referral to the bone Dr. soon.

After 36 plus hous of the worst pain I ever had I went to the ER. Now it is a second Drs. trip this week too. The time has come to find out what the problem is, just wish it wasn't costing me so much money.

Have been having a lot of pain above my left hip between my side and my back. Went to the Dr. yesterday, got some pain pills, but even though they are strong they are not helping. Along with what is a combination of stomach cramps and ingestion things are not going well. The Dr. want to send me to a Neurologist because I passed out twice around 2 am May 15th and also to a bone dr. to check on the ostroprosis. Can't sleep, have trouble eating and in a lot of pain, oh what fun this year has been.

By trying to do the what we thought was the right thing, following the way of the Lord and doing the best for others can land you in jail as the following shows a taste of.

Seems like my insomnia is at it's worst on Fridat nights. Bob is sleeping peacefully and Aunt Rose won't flush the toilet. We did juggle the cars and got the dryer into the garage, the Syclone made a chip in the side of the driveway, but that was all. My car, "Shelby" a 1996 Honda Civic with a 5-speed and sunroof was her nibble self all day. The dentist apt went well, but I'm not going to get all the work they want, way, way too much and way too expensive. Oh well, all that will come later.

2.  Saturday in FloridaID #415136
Posted: 3-25-2006 @ 1:03 pm EST

It is March 25, 2006 and we have a cold snap, 61 degrees, and I am coughing again. I have learned that down here you do not wish for summer since it will be so hot and humid and hurricane season to boot. I will enjoy the day and put off until it is a few degrees warmer what I had planned for the day.

It was a nice day here in sunny Florida, almost 80 degrees. I've added some new short stories and still have a few left to type in. I love writing.com because it gives me a place to share my feelings and vent a little if I need to.
