Welcome, reader.

In my blog, I am going to record my daily life as daily as possible. This includes the trials of school, home life (not very private stuff) and of course Writing.com.
Be sure to say what you think. I'm trying to make this as funny as possible. Also, the title is from the Japanese video game franchise- Tales of series!

Enjoy reading!

Regards,
Antonia

Two days ago was my birthday...but nothing much happened. Steph (my twin sister if you've forgotten) is ill with a cold so I decided she wasn't up for going anywhere. Just played on the Wii and saw my niece again.

However it's not all been doom and gloom since my last post. Steph goes to the University of Sheffield and I visited her this weekend gone. We had made quite a few plans before: watch something at the cinema, shop, have lunch at this Japanese restaurant she told me about, and go out to a student night. Unfortunately only 2 of those things got fulfiled while I was there but it was nice to have a change of scenery from Egham (town where my campus is located) and Wolverhampton (my home town). Then on Monday we went back home together on the train to celebrate our birthday...well at least be together for it.

Term officially ends tomorrow and my mom is coming in my people-carrier to pick me and my stuff up. Unfortunately I left my phone at home so its hard to contact my friends (most of whom live off or on the other side of campus). Seriously, one of my first friends at uni I haven't seen for weeks despite me trying to contact her in every way. Is she ignoring me or just too busy? *Sad*

And now it's time for me to catch up again on WDC. With friends not responding to me its better then being bored as hell. *Rolleyes*

Well I'm back at university now, but only for a week or so- exams are finished its more tying up of loose ends here. This includes attending a committee training session (since I'm secretary of the karate club here at my uni), doing as many psychology experiments as possible to rack up money, and basically enjoy myself away from home. Teehee *Smile*

Not much else to say, but check out my newest poem Todd the Cleaner- the first unique thing i've written in years. That's saying something! It's based on a real cleaner at my uni- a fairly old man who cleans everything daily, picking up even the smallest of fragmented cigarette butts. A dedicated guy even in a dead-end job like his.

Well this Anti , who needs to sort out dinner soon, so I better come off Tales of Antonia!

Antonia

I have returned, few followers!

The blessed anonymoi (lol) of the site gave me an upgraded membership when I began reviewing again, and on the same day that I started this blog five years ago! That is such a coincidence!

Well, in the 557 days since my last post a lot has changed, so time for another bullet list:

1) I'm now at university! Studying BA in Classics at Royal Holloway, University of London. The exams season has just finished but term hasn't. I've been at home for a while though and go back tomorrow. I'll post more about it when I return, including pictures! *Bigsmile*
2) I'm 18, nearly 19 in less than a fortnight. Looking back through some of the posts I made as a fourteen/fifteen year old is really wierd. I'm especially embarassed by my writing rants and would like to apologise to anyone who looks back so far- clearly I was someone who thought too highly of my talents at the time.
3) Writing...well I have ideas for novels but no motivation and, since starting uni, no time. As for shorter stuff, well writer's block has kicked in, or a certain reservedness about posting my work on site. However, essays and articles I'm more comfortable with- maybe uni life has prepared me for something after all!

Hmmm...I think that's it for now. "Anti's Review Center v2.0 is open after years of neglect I have got through many reviews without seeming too dated. I do feel guilty about leaving it open despite being inactive, but I will certainly make up for it while the upgrade is here. With exams done the summer holidays (June-September!) are my oyster! So this is Anti signing out from her first blog post in almost two years on Tales of Antonia!

(Miss the tagline? I did! *Smile*)

Sorry I haven't been posting, few followers. I've been particularly with school concerning university applications (UCAS).

Yesterday, I got an offer from Cardiff University to study Ancient History. I was quite surprised actually- my application was biased towards Classics (i.e. the languages Latin and Ancient Greek) and I was worried that this would disadvantage me at first. In fact applying there was last minute because I needed somewhere which would offer me lower grades and Stephanie (who has applied there for Japanese and Business Management and also got an offer) had gone to see the campus and assured me it was to my taste. Go her!

Anyway that is all I wanted to post, if anything to get those "Reminder- Update your blog" emails out of my inbox and my conscience. This is Anti signing out of Tales of Antonia!

Hello WDC!

It's been over a year since I last worked on this blog, so here's an update:
*Bullet*I'm now 17. *lol*
*Bullet*I'm doing my A-levels (equivalent to SATs in the US as they're used to gain entrance into university) in English Literature, Religious Studies and Latin as well as General Studies which is compulsory and a sham
*Bullet*Next September I hope to start university somewhere, so I'm applying this year. In our British system we pick five unis and send our application electronically to them. Unlike American universities our degree is specialized in some subjects (i.e. we choose our major before going)- so I want to study Classics, preferably at the University of Exeter.
*Bullet*Since becoming inactive on Writing.Com I have more or less stopped writing but began reading again! Currently I'm reading Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. Hopefully I can write one thing before half-term is out!

Well, I hope anyone who follows this blog or even sees it while looking at portfolio has fun. Let's get writing and reviewing. This is Anti_W signing out from Tales of Antonia on a gloomy Monday Morning!

Regards,
Antonia

P.S. This blog is once again dedicated to those anonymous (anonymoi??) who give so much to the Writing.Com community. Without you I may never have put the effort into my reviews as I do now. *Smile*

Come Sunday (??) it will be two years since this blog began. So LITTLE has changed.

By the way, I have started my GCSE exams now. Currently I'm on Study Leave and it's coming up to Half Term anyway. Instead I keep thinking about 6th form and moreso, university. Honestly...

Regards,
Antonia

Valentine's Day isn't really fair for either children or single people like me. I don't have a boyfriend, so I was very jealous when Janine recieved a rose from hers this morning.

I haven't been around boys since I was at primary school (remember that I go to a all-girls school now) so I don't know what 'love' is. I don't regret it; all boys act like pricks around me.

*sigh again*

Regards,
Antonia

Well it's been a while since I've written in here...

Here's a list of things that happened since October:
*Bullet*We now have a Nintendo Wii (no good games for me though)
         *Bullet*Our house is getting redecorated
*Bullet*I completed more GCSE mocks (all C's and B's unfortunately)
*Bullet*Christmas/New Year was same as always.
*Bullet*11J are as annoying as ever
         *Bullet*

More recently however, my nan died this Tuesday gone. The thing is that's she lived in Jamaica for most of my life so I have few memories of her. My parents are asking me to write a short eulogy or poem or something but I don't have a clue what to say.

So far I have something like this...

"I remember nanny most when she and Grandad looked after me before I went to nursery, on my trip to Jamaica and when she visited England about seven years ago. I liked how my nan was similar to mom; they were both very serious and sincere people, yet they did say the odd remark back to their husbands."

...that's it. Suggestions anyone? *Sad*

UPDATE 2: Nevermind, I managed to do a poem! (It would be posted on WDC had I got an upgrade) *Smile*

UPDATE 1: Furthermore, my parents and oldest sister will be travelling to Jamaica to attend her funeral (they'll be going on Tuesday or Thursday of next week so it's cutting into half-term) so I'll be staying at a relative's house over the half-term and week after that. There isn't a computer there so I won't be online for about a week. I'm really nervous though. The relative I'm staying at is really nice, but it will just be me, her and Steph (as her husband is going too and her two daughters have moved out). Without a computer I'll be bored, I'll have to be satisfied with my DS and digital television. Not to mention that it will be difficult over the school period (I'll have to keep popping home by the bus to get schoolbooks and such).

*Sigh*

Regards,
Antonia

I absolutely HATE fridays.

My form, silly as they are, make Latin (one of the last lessons of the day) quite unbearable. The teacher is already cantankerous (ooo) but for him to flip almost every time they object to his methods really gets on my nerves.

There are lots of people in this world (LOTS) who make me want to yell "Argh!" before rushing over to them and wringing their necks until you can't feel the veins you're twisting, just so they can shut their mouths for the whole 50 minutes.

Stephanie obviously must feel this way, because she never mentions it and is always seemingly composed.

Furthermore, I'm still at a loss of my muse. I wish I was like my friend Katy; she is writing a story based on the Bible now. Moi, hopeless. Whatever idea I might have, someone, however much they are entitled to their opinion, is going to crush it.

Regards,
Antonia

Hello Everyone.

My sister and I are saving up for a Nintendo Wii. The thing is though, I don't really want one at this stage. For all the hardcore gamers on WDC this will be hard to believe but I want a PS3, for all the wonderful games that will be released SOON.

In the meanwhile, I'm preparing to get a M3 DS (one of these flashcart thingies). Haven't done a lot of writing...as of yet. 'Closed Classroom Doors' seems to have been a semi-success. I wonder if all my poems should be school-related. Maybe some of the elder people in the world know what stress we students are under...
