A Texas Sunrise

A Texas Sunrise [#1285915]
Sunrise on Surfside Beach, Texas

A friend, William Taylor, took this picture. He visits Surfside Beach with his dogs almost every morning, watching the sun rise while the dogs prance about at the water's edge.

This is only about ten miles from where I lived in Lake Jackson, Texas. Sadly, I only visited this beach about four times in the six years I lived nearby.

Each day is a challenge. A challenge to get by without thinking about the fibromyalgia pains. A challenge to stay awake when chronic fatigure wants to take over. And a challenge to navigate through fibro fog.

I haven't been writing as much as in the past. For years, I wrote at least 500 words a day. Now, I'm lucky if I write 500 words in month. Sigh.

Interesting about the AIDS/SIDS thing. Hadn't really thought about that. True, though.

perhaps you could then add "You know what 'kumbaya" is? :)

I heard another one today. "You worry less about AIDS and more about SIDS"

not quite as funny but maybe just as telling.

I'm pushing thirty and starting to see some of these things--like starting to understand why my mom was so damn hung up on the songs she grew up on. My 15 year old sis thinks I'm soooo uncool. I think that's another indicator.

I pick up bottlecaps and pens. I scored a box of twelve black-ink pens this month. If it were an engraved gold pen I'd try to find its owner. Some things are owned. Other things are not.

Change? I try not to pick up pennies as I grow older. I don't need them and my back doesn't need them either. Dimes are worse. Quarters? Yep. We talking some big money now.

I saw a penny in the grass tonight. I picked it up and put it somewhere I thought others might see it. I have little need of pennies.
