UGH, I totally commiserate. My youngest sister is absolutely spoiled rotten, mainly because my parents have gotten too lazy to discipline her. I guess they figure it's easier to just give her what she wants.

Sigh.

I'm not living at home the vast majority of time, though, so I don't really have to deal with it. Thank god for that.

Double major! Holy heck, that's a lot of classes, but it sounds like you got a plan. Lit and Sociology is a better mix too, than say Masonry and Firefighting.

It's great that you are wise enough to find joy in living your life without needing the constant approval of friends. That's the way you make true connections - by being authentic.

Band would be a great idea. I was in college marching band for 2 years. I even met my husband there. That's a great way to have fun and meet a lot of great people.

It seems that youth lends itself to indulging our reading desires, but the as "adults" we have to tow the line and we loose the spontaneous moments for reading. Conciously making time to allow myself to read for pleasure, not work, is important. Good luck and enjoy spring break!!!
