I wrote the first chapter based on a prompt given for the Writer's Cramp contest.  What was written had to contain something about a broken umbrella, an unmatched pair of shoes, and a meeting.  I was inspired by that and came up with a short story that could also be built upon to create a longer story, prehaps even a novel, though I am not very confident as to how such a thing would work out.  Please let me know what you think of my work.  I appreciate any input you can give me from a reading and editing standpoint.  Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.  I hope that you will enjoy it.
