The blog of mine enemy. Everyone wants to know what is happening with other people and from here you can find out just what is going on in my morbidly mundane existance. The book starts now, will include occasional annecdotal memories and will mostly be written under the cover of darkness when the law cannot catch up with me.
Take a look inside and see if you like - there's something for everyone, with information about my current projects, upcoming works, answers to questions and details on updates to my websites.
Hey to blog for blogging sake, is what I do best. I love the mundane and crazy rantings I get to do about myself. Plus my blog is my way of making sure I write every day even if it is crap. You however are a responisble blogger. You actually talk about your writing. Now I have to go read some.
My blog started off as an alternative to sending out mass emails to family and friends to keep in touch. I erroneously thought that if I blogged ...
But, that was then. Now I blog to keep me on writing goals, to keep me recording images so I am not floating somewhere out there, to be a part of a writing community that actual reads my blog!
There are all types here. Go read a few and decide what kind you want: humor, advice (both of these are types are well read), confessional, family, opinion, rant, religious, writing, publication ... many do a mix.
A very short List-of-5 (Scarlett from Sheffield has taught us well):
Mavis Moog a rational mind from Kinder's Trespass, U.K. partyof5dj the Erma Bombeck of Moose Poop, Montana. Tor the instigator of Blogville, sitting on his sore butt in Texas. alfred booth an American musician in France who specializes in poetry. Nada shoes, the Sunday funnies and more from NW of La La Land.
As you all know, A Christmas Carol Retold was released in January. Now I am participating in what I believe is a marketing first - selling exclusive signed editions of the book on Ebay. This means that the final selling price of these very limited items is entirely down to the public.
The collection is limited to 20 copies, which are hand numbered and signed. For those who are interested in such items, there is also a signed photo included.
Here's the link to the first auction for the book numbered 1 :-
Well, It's been too long since any of my blogs were updated. Moving house is not good for the workload.
Anyway...the Anthony Lund Website and the Tales from the Back Side Website have been updated and so has the Anthony Lund Blog. Check out the blog at http://s124076124.websitehome.co.uk/ or visit www.anthonylund.co.uk and click on the blog link there.
Well, A Christmas Carol Retold has finally got a publication date. The book will be released on 19th November to order from my websites and through Lulu.com. The book is being released in 4 formats:
* Limited Edition Signed Hardback (Limited to 50 copies - Available exclusively through anthonylund.co.uk & talesfromthebackside.co.uk) - £14.99
* Limited Hardback Edition (Limited to 1000 copies)- £12.98
* Paperback - £6.49
* E-book - £2.99
Also, there is a new short story available in my portfolio. The story is called "All You Have To Do Is Wait" and is something I wrote to ease myself out of the humour frame of mind and back into the more serious level of writing. Take a look and see what you think.
Well, Halloween fast approaches, Bonfire Night also, and then boys and girls it is Christmas Time. Where does the year go?
I have made a couple of decisions about things over the last few weeks, and the first of those is about this blog. From now on, unless there is something rivetting to be told, I will be updating the blog every month with news, previews, release dates and anything else that comes to hand at the time. This means I have 29 days, most months, not to worry about it, one of frantic typing and one of posting. Sorted.
Also I have started up a video blog, hosted by You Tube. The inital entries in this video blog were recorded on the 22nd and 23rd October, when i was finishing the almost-final draft of A Christmas Carol Retold. The blog channel can be found at www.youtube.com/anthonylund
Running alongside this is a second channel dedicated to demos of some of the songs I have written. Mixed with covers of other artists songs I hope to add a number of other original songs to the collection. This channel is available at www.youtube.com/ashkent7
There have been further updates made to The Last Magician, taking the story to the end of Part Two. the new chapters bring Part Two to a close with the introduction of two new characters who play integral parts in what is to come.

Finally, A preview copy of A Christmas Carol Retold is available by following the link below. The book will be available to buy in December - date to be confirmed - through Lulu.com and from my own websites - www.anthonylund,co,uk and www.talesfromthebackside.co.uk - with a limited hardback edition or paperback edition available.
Well it had to be done. I've been so consumed by longer works that i have kind of neglected my forays into short fiction. That is discounting the flash fiction entries and the humour pieces.
But that has been rectified. In The Family has now been posted in the portfolio. It has lain around in my ideas folder for about five years as the opening to a novel - who knows, maybe one day that novel might still get written.
As it is, reading over the prologue to that novel, I kind of saw that what was there was pretty much a contained story there, and with a little tweaking to the original file, this is the outcome.
I guess it is kind of a sequel to "Getting Away With Murder", which looked at a man who did not have to live with the consequences of the murders he committed, in that it further explores the effect murder has on people - only this time looking at a man for whom the consequences he is tragically accountable for.
In other areas there are two new chapters now up for The Last Magician for those following the story.
That means it is time to take on the spirit of goodwill and glad tidings and bring misery to the world...with a touch of humour behind it of course.
After some advice from a frind in publishing (who declined to publish my work due to its limited market -Some friend! Only joking, Jack.) i am going it alone and self-publishing A Christmas Carol Retold just in time for the season to be jolly.
After many straight interpretations, and the Muppet Christmas Carol, A Christmas Carol Retold will appeal to readers of Robert Rankin, Spike Milligan and other great British comics. Taking the Dickens classic apart and putting it back together with Pritt Stick and Blue Tak, A Christmas Carol Retold is a tale fit to raise he spirits.
More details will be posted on my website with the release date.
And finally a donation has been received on my MacMillan Charity page. I would say thanks to Jack here (Yes eagle eyed viewers, it is the same Jack as mentioned above)) but he doesn't know about this site so there's little point really.
I've got a donation!! To those who don't know, i am doing a half marathon in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and have a page set up at www.justgiving.com/writeronthe run
The first donation has come in today. £10 down, £490 to go. I do not expect such big donations...I think i mentioned something like £1 would be appreciated so this has boosted me no end.
Yes it has. No way of avoiding it. It's over three weeks since i last blogged. By all counts that should mean i am blocked with enough blog to make me burst.
Maybe not.
I have been busy updating a couple of things though. For those who are interested in such things. There are new chapters available on Dracula Retold and The Last Magician, as well as an updated 1st chapter of A Christmas Carol Retold...now about 15% longer than it was before.
I'm still looking for that first sponsor on my fundraising page www.justgiving.com/writerontherun in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
And there are a few new things working their way through the pipeline.
For now though, i'll leave you with the usual links.
