Amen! I don't know how many times I've heard, "When are you going to get a real job?" It tends to piss me off too. The last person that asked me that, I told off terribly! He was asking me this with a newspaper stuffed under his nose. I asked him who the hell he thought put the news in that paper he was reading or if he was just looking at the pictures! I don't think he will be asking that question ever again, at least not to me.

That's a wonderful sentiment. I hope it works for you. I've reached the age at which I really don't care about what I get, but am trying to instill in my children, age 12 and twins who are 10 that it is better to give than to receive and that it's not the price of the gift but the thought behind it. Helping them select something meaningful that expresses their caring for that person. It's so easy to get caught up in the hype, but there's still hope for them and we're trying to keep the proper spirit of the season.
