Earth's time has come and gone. Humanity, having fled Earth years ago for reasons unknown, has now set up shop around the rest of the galaxy. Humanity has split into three factions. The memory of Earth has faded; any remaining facts have recombined to form the legend of a planet named Eden.
         A piece of historical evidence has reappeared in the form of an ancient spacecraft. However, following, a great space battle, the spacecraft has been lost. All three of the major cultures in the Milky Way are now searching for it. The Union, the most democratic of the three, wants it to further their knowledge. The Fist, not interested in anything that might dissuade his servants from their belief in his ultimate power, wants it to present it to his people, a kind of victory prize. The Party, a religious socialism, wants it to prove their beliefs about the history of the species. All three want it to find Eden.
         Now, it is up to Captain Maddie Roberts and her archaeologist friend Janie Akbar to find Eden. But in their way lay many obstacles, including the vicious Anarks, a group of vicious aliens, and a mysterious government agent.
