I was sleeping when you called. I hope you didn't need a pep talk, because if you did, and I failed to answer the phone, and you are now unpepped as a result, then I feel terrible.
My old bones find this episode of "The Young and Energetic" exhausting. But at least I'll blush less next time something "good" happens and I feel moved to share.
I can tell how you feel just by reading how you write about it. I hate that you are going through this stuff. I wish the best for you.
I don't like Ted Leo, either. The only thing he's ever done that I could get behind is when he covered "Since U Been Gone" and combined it with "Maps" as a nod to the fact that the instrumental break toward the end of "Since U Been Gone" is stolen note for note from "Maps" and probably no one who doesn't listen to indie music even realized it. Like how everyone loves stupid Owl City and proably 95 percent of those people have never even heard of The Postal Service.
If I had extra money laying around, I'd totally send you all of it.
Just breathe. I've never thought you to be anything less than formidable, but even the mighty have moments like these. Just breathe, stop worrying about the things you can't control and accept that there will be days, or even weeks, when things won't feel safe and warm. You will get through it, promise. Go outside, sit somewhere quiet and let reality in. Sometimes that works for me, and let me tell you, I know what you're talking about.
It's going to be okay, and I don't say that lightly. Breathe and be, my friend.
This is not good. I hear alarms going off... I've been through some very rough times and this feels too much like what I went through. Different details, but that same malaise.
