Hi Jen...so sorry to read this has happened to you, to him. If there is anything I have learned over the years with my son the addict...they lie. They don't mean to, it's just automatic. They are also, sneaky...or so they think. I suppose they are stuck in the tiny world they have created, and caring for anyone outside of it is neigh impossible. But there is a reason they say not to get involved with someone else in the program. I see my son making the same mistakes over and over, picking women he thinks need rescuing...it makes him feel needed. He picks women who are emotionally unavailable, or too needy.
You know how much I respect you for your honesty, so I'm not here to put you down...just to say you are worth more as a woman than to be treated the way you have been. Best of luck sweety.
Beautifully written Jennifer. You're right in that we have to let go and let God even as hard as it is to do so.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it.
Sounds like things are going very well for you...that is great...I am not suprised! This place is pretty bare right now, not many of the old crew around including myself. I drop in occasionally but I haven't been writing much at all....not sure what is wrong. Hey our cats have been puking a lot too...the vet said we are letting them eat too much?
Keep up the good vibes and the good work OK Jen?
Joyce Meyer seems like a good woman. I'm not much for church or TV evangelism, but she has some good fun stuff to say. Kudos, too, with your nephew. It's true far too many not just preach but scream fire and brimstone and truly believe that will save souls. It doesn't.
As an agnostic and inactive mormon, I appreciate this post :)
I can only say, when we went to Joyce's conference in August of last year along with 12,000 others we left all four meetings feeling so overwhelmed that words failed us too. It was phenomenal, God has used her in such a way that has blessed my life. I enjoy watching her on tv and reading her books as often as I can.
I have enjoyed hearing Delirious?'s worship songs for years, and seeing them in person only magnifies my love for them. (isn't it weird that they use a question mark in their name?)
I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the conference, I told you that you would. They are life changing. We're looking forward to going again in three more weeks.
Relish these moments when God is speaking to you and you're feeling so emotional.
