Old Hindi film songs are full of emotion, are soothing to the soul and are a rare pleasure to listen. The depth and beauty of the oldies goldies is unmatchable compared to the newer generation of film songs, which are comparatively superficial.
The charm of Hindi songs, or those of any other language, is lost if the lyrics are presented in another script, such as Roman script. The lyrics here are presented in Hindi script. The songs are listed in the standard Hindi alphabetical order, as found in Hindi dictionaries, with reference to the opening / main line. Audio link for the song is also given wherever known.
