I know I am late the scene, but I feel your loss. Dogs are our best friends. They are the ones that will sit there and listen to you cry or rant or be extra silly and never judge. He was a very lucky and blessed animal to have you with him especially at the end.

I hang onto the hope they're in a better place now and one day will be reunited with us. Take comfort in the great life you gave him.

Never easy to lose faithful friends who have always been there for us with a quick wag of the tail and as you say, a special puppy-breath kiss. You must take consolation in the fact that his end was not long and drawn out and that he probably didn't suffer very long.
