 305.  The First Day of SpringID #690820
Posted: 3-20-2010 @ 3:20 pm EDT
Edited: 3-20-2010 @ 3:30 pm EDT

Spring begin today
The sun crossed the vernal equinox
It feels like winter

The wind has stopped blowing, clouds form a patchwork sown onto the blue sky. I still feel chilly, it may be this way the rest of the weekend. I fixed soup, some leftover with green beans and carrots. I still have leftover in the fridge to fix on Monday. Tomorrow, March 21, we celebrate Naw-Ruz and we're going to a restaurant with some other Baha'is in the area.

Naw-Ruz a New Day
Spring is in the air birds sing
Warm weather coming

Jalál (Glory), 19 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE – Friday, March 19, 2010 about 10:07 PM Pacific Time

My mother cries when she is sad and when she is happy. All three of my siblings called to wish Mom a happy birthday. Two of her grandsons sang happy birthday to her in both English and Spanish. Mom was so excited and happy she cried. Mom went to bed, but I don't know if she went to sleep.

Mom doesn't sleep well under ordinary conditions, tonight she was so excited that she didn't think she could sleep. I haven't went to check on her yet because I haven't heard her crying, I don't want to distrub her if she was able to go to sleep.

Istijlál (Majesty), 17 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE - Thursday, March 18, 2010 about 6:09 PM Pacific Time

I watch evening clouds
On a good Thankful Thursday
A jet echoing

Gratitude journal
Waits for my completed list
The sun is setting

I have to admit that life is sometimes weird and sometimes wonderful. Today life was wonderful, not stress free, but enjoyable just the same. Mom and I went to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles today because we had to renew her official Nevada Identification card. Everyone there was nice, not just the employees, but the customers as well. I hear people complain all the time about the DMV, I don't know what they're complaining about because every time I've went the place is nice and everyone is friendly.

The only issue I encounter was parking, I couldn't find a place close to the door. Mom, who used her walker today, and I had to walk quite a ways to get to the door. I suppose that's expected considering that people are moving into Las Vegas all the time. I was so relaxed at the DMV that I sit in my chair and dozed.

Idál (Justice), 16 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE - Wednesday, March 17, 2010 about 10:11 AM Pacific Time

My mother lost her lower partial dentures this morning, she took them out of her mouth to wash them and forgot where she put them. I know that forgetting where she put her teeth isn't funny, but I found it funny and when I started to laugh Mom started laughing. It's been a while since Mom laughed like that, it didn't last long because she lost long, but it was nice hearing her laugh for a change.

I don't know why I found her misplacing her dentures funny. It's got to be my Irish sense of humor and the fact that today is St. Patrick's Day. I usually find odd situations funny on St. Patrick's Day, so it has to be my weird Irish sense of humor because I can't think of any other explanation.

 301.  Do birds suffer from insomnia?ID #690429

Fidál (Grace), 15 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE - Tuesday, March 16, 2010 about 10:05 AM Pacific Time

When I went to bed last night, about 11:30 PM a bird was singing. I think it was a nightingale because his song was sweet as it echoed through the neighborhood. He sang all night, which the cat didn't like because it was something they never heard at night before. I've heard the nightingale during the day, but this is the first time I've heard him sing at night. It caused me to wonder if birds get insomnia. Was he so happy that spring is on the way he had to announce his joy to the world in the middle of the night.

Nightingale singing
In the middle of the night
Evening lullaby

 300.  I’m behind and need to catch upID #690368

Kamál (Perfection), 14 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE - Monday, March 15, 2010 about 3:03 PM Pacific Time

I'm behind on a number of things and need to catch up, so I may as well start with a blog entry. There are a couple of things I'm not behind on. I did set my alarm clock forward one hour yesterday, so I get up at the right time. I'm not behind on picking out items for the fantasy newsletter. I'm on almost everything else and I will catch before the end of the week. There are a couple of writing projects I'll catch up today and post before I go to bed tonight.

I need to thank anonymous for the membership. I need to find another radio station for my alarm clock setting. I need to reset my virus scan from 11:00 PM to midnight, it takes the scan about four or five hours to run so it should run while I'm not working on document or online. It can run while I'm asleep or attempting to sleep, I don't get sleepy until about midnight and then I wake up about five or six in the morning.

 299.  I've reviewed most of the dayID #690295
Posted: 3-15-2010 @ 1:23 am EDT
Edited: 3-15-2010 @ 1:24 am EDT

It's been a long day of reviewing and I still need about 88,000 GPs for a one-month membership. At this point, I'm not sure how I feel because I'm not sure whether I'm tired or depressed. I know I'm not sleepy, so there's no use me going to bed because I couldn't sleep. I'll review a few more items before I throw in the towel.

Edited: 3-10-2010 @ 5:28 pm EST

Sometimes I wonder
Why I continue to strive
When clouds hide the sun

I intended to write more on the subject, but was interrupted by the door bell. The plumber arrived to unstop my kitchen sink. I answered the door and forgot what I was going to write. I will leave this for now, perhaps I'll remember the rest of the entry later and perhaps not.

‘Idál (Justice), 9 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE – Tuesday, March 9, 2010 about 7:32 Pacific Time

Midnight ebony
Diamonds sparkle and glitter
A wind chill factor

I need to take the trash out after dark more often. I looked up into the night sky and saw the stars glittering, the look like diamonds. Sometime, at night the sky directly above my house is clear enough to see a few bright stars.

Posted: 3-8-2010 @ 8:50 pm EST

Kamál (Perfection), 7 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 166 BE – Monday, March 8, 2010 about 5:47 PM Pacific Time

A beautiful day
Clouds intermingled with blue
It rained late last night

January ended with rain,
February end with rain,
March began with rain
This year the desert will bloom.
