Jalál (Glory), 18 Qudrat (Power), 166 BE – Saturday, November 21, 2009 about 7:00 AM Pacific Time

I took my mother to the doctor yesterday afternoon. The prognosis isn't surprising because I've suspected this for about six months or more. Still having a doctor tell you is official and carries more emotional weight. Mom's been difficult for several months and getting more so, the doctor prescribed some meds, which she thinks may help Mom's condition.

I've considered reevaluating my work and my life since the beginning of November, but Mom's condition means I'm going to have to do it now, before I call my brothers and sister to let them know what's going on. I can't breakdown into tears while I'm talking to my brothers. My sister is different story, she's another woman and you can cry with another woman over almost anything.

As I said before, I need to reevaluate almost everything in my life. So here goes, when I started NaNoWriMo I thought I could finish it. I'm not going to complete it this year. On the bright side, I did finish the challenge this year. Whether I attempt NaNoWriMo in 2010 is unclear. I would like to complete a challenge and the novel in a single year before I turn 70.

There are specific thing I'm going to do in 2010. I am going to continue writing. I am going to extend my premium membership for at least a full year. I am remaining a Baha'i. I am remaining a moderator. Those are the four things I want to continue.

There are a lot of things that's up in the air at present. In the next twelve or nineteen months, I will either bring them back to earth or let them float away. I will write later about what the doctor said concerning Mom.

Morning's aroma
warms the desert's freezing heart
percolator sings.

Coffee brewed in a percolator is stronger then coffee brewed in a drip coffee maker. I like the coffee from the percolator better because it reminds me of my grandfather.

Kamál (Perfection), 13 Qudrat (Power), 166 BE – Monday, November 16, 2009 about 6:54 AM Pacific Time

Another week begins, actually the week began yesterday; however, Monday is traditionally the beginning of the workweek. I'm not sure how the week is going right now, of course, I never know how the week is going to go. From the way this morning began probably not very good.

Mom has two appointments, with two different doctors of Friday. The first is at 10:00 AM, which is a follow-up with a specialist. The second is at 2:00 PM and that is with her regular doctor. I called her regular doctor last week to ask for a recommendation (I know that isn't what it's called, but I can't think of the word right now) to a neurologist.

I suspect what the problem is, but I can't say for sure until I talk to a neurologist. I know part of the issue is depression, but that isn't the entire problem. Something else is going on and I'm afraid to even say what I suspect it is. I'm afraid it may be some form of dementia, but I can't say for sure until Mom sees a neurologist.

I'm going to have to call a family meeting in the spring because of this. I'm not looking forward to that either. I don't like family meetings. They are necessary, but I don't like them.

Jamál (Beauty), 12 Qudrat (Power), 166 BE – Sunday, November 15, 2009 about 12:29 PM Pacific Time

I need to say thank you to anonymous. I know there was a forum for that; however, I can't seem to find it at the moment. I think it has something to do with focus, which has improved since last night and earlier this morning.

I ate lunch and that helped my focus a bit. I don't think I'm tired because I don't feel tired. Earlier today I felt like I was walking through a fog, but this is clearing as the day advances.

I have writing to catch-up on and I think that is going to have to wait until tomorrow. Right now all I want to do is relax, so I think I'll get more of whatever it was I made for lunch and see if I can find some mindless programs on T.V. or read the paper.

I spent Saturday, November 14, on writing.com reviewing between interruptions. I managed to do 51 qualified reviews. I am not sure how many review I would have did if I were not interrupted. I still need a little over 66,000 GPs for another months premium membership. My membership is due today, so about 4:00 AM Pacific Time I'm going to do some house cleaning in my port.

I had planned on continuing to review until that time, however, I don't think I can do any more reviews. I've look into some items I wanted to review, but I just can't make myself read or review any more right now. So I'm going to reset my virus scan to run, brush my teeth and put them in a cup, and then go to bed for a while. I just can't focus on reviewing at the moment.

I've always heard that nothing is impossible, only improbable. I'm doing a lot of reviewing today because I need points to purchase another month's premium membership. This, of course, is my own fault, but I don't have time for recriminations. Since my membership is due tomorrow, I may be deleting items from my port about 4:00 AM Sunday morning. I'm going to pour myself a cup of coffee and get started.

Dawn's light proclaims a
new day for humanity
God's Glory is born.

Mom and I went to the Baha'i Center last night to celebrate the Birth of Baha'u'llah. The program was spiritual and beautiful. There were prayers, live music, scripture readings, a video, and food. We had a wonderful time and I'm not doing justice to the celebration.

‘Idál (Justice), 8 Qudrat (Power), 166 BE – Wednesday, November 11, 2009 about 12:24 PM Pacific Time

It's an overcast veterans day in Las Vegas. The one of the neighbors across the street has the American flag flying at half mass. There was a parade today, I'm not sure where the local parade was held because I no longer go to parades. Maybe in 2010 I will make a effort to go to some of the local parades or maybe not.

When I go to parades I enjoy them, the main problem is parking. I have to park so far away that I have to walk to the parade route and that is sometimes difficult. Then there is the problem of paying for parking, I don't think there is a parking garage in town that doesn't charge at least $1.00 an hour, which is beyond my budget. All though, I could be wrong about how much they do charge.

I need to write a
poem for Veterans Day
to my Uncle Roy.

Fidál (Grace), 7 Qudrat (Power), 166 BE – Tuesday, November 10, 2009 about 6:27 AM Pacific Time

I installed the DSL modem on Sunday evening. I had to clean up around my desk and move my computer to the new desk before installing he modem. Then I had to go to Lowe's and buy a new surge protector. All right, the expense for the surge protector was my punishment for being a lousy housekeeper Life is a learning experience and each new test teaches a lesson.

Getting back to the DSL, I like the ability to get online easily and to download quickly. There are a couple of sites I need to check out because I want to see the videos they have available, but that is going to have to wait until December. This week I am doing reviews and working on my NaNoWriMo novel. Next week the novel alone becomes the focus. Fortunately, I do not have to come up with a subject for next month's fantasy newsletter because I got an idea for that yesterday. All I have to do is write it, since I am focusing on reviewing this week I will find some editor's picks while reviewing.

I am back online. I have DSL and a new e-mail address. I am going to enjoy working online again. Life is wonderful. I am not sure what else to say because I just got the modem set up tonight.
