A lot of people will tell you that the world ended in the year 3000. I don't see it that way. Maybe because it was when my life actually started... I don't know. See, about ten years ago, a new political group emerged. They called themselves the Novus Mandatum, which means "New Order". Maybe if more people had known what it meant they wouldn't have rose to power so quickly... but then again not a lot of people know Latin. Anyway, a man named Adrian Reid is their leader. At first they started their take over subtly... a bribe, an assassination, the kind help to a charity... and then it got bad. Some people didn't want them to be their leaders. They wanted freedom... they got death. The Novus Mandatum were friends with everyone... especially the communist leaders. Once they got their hands on the weapons, however, everyone realized that in truth the New Order had no friends. Everyone got played. Sure, they'd be nice to you if you let them walk all over you. Or if you were more like them than you thought and you wanted a hand in the cash. But as for me? I'm not going to take it. For all you Novus' out there, my name is Danny Cooper, part of the Freedom Fighters, and you'd do best not to forget it. Because we're the ones who are going to stop you... or die trying.
