Rebekah is a seventeen year old girl living in the small rural town of Middle Lakes, NSW, Australia.  She attends Middle Lakes Secondary with her best friend, Riley, and life is about as normal as it gets.  Then, on the first day of the new school year, Middle Lakes Secondary gets a new addition to its ranks: Malachi Scott, with unusual green eyes and chocolate brown hair, "so perfectly messy it couldn't possibly be accidental".  Rebekah finds herself instively drawn to Malachi--that is, until they speak for the first time.  There's more to Malachi than meets the eye, though, and his secrets are dark ones.  But Rebekah soon learns that Malachi isn't the only one hiding something...
