Rosie grew up in Pecan Branch and now works in the small corner store, Gandy's. Her life is uneventful until the new police officer in town, Whit, strolls in to the store and into her heart. While Whit and arch-rival, Bobby Ray, try to track down a bag of valuable marbles lost by eccentric Mildred, Rosie and Whit struggle with their blossoming feelings for one another.
