"Money can't buy a lot of things, friendship is one of them." Dr. Robi had a little diary with his favorite quotations, this was one of the first ones. He always had these words very close to his heart. He mainly enjoyed spreading smiles and laughter in sick cabins, not counting notes.

Allah allmighty always sent blessings his way. He had a loving family, two beautiful children, a perfect wife, and last but not the least, a mother who meant the world to him. He had lost his dad in a tragic accident many years back, and had been treating sick people since, saving them from both mental and physical accidents.

There was a time when Mr. Rahman burned out at least one pack of Benson per day. His wife Rehuma hated smoking, but he didn't care. He even tried wig-smoking once. I'm the Lord of my own, he used to think.

No, I'm not going to die, I'm gonna be a man who can turn around even after falling down. Maybe my wife will appreciate positive attitudes from now on. Ending one's life is definitely not his or her own job. Life certainly has its ups and downs, but I'd never want to give up. Mr Rahman wrote in his journal titled: A journey to Self discovery.

You know something Mr. Rahman, complaining about life, or being depressed all the time will seldom help you. Try to enjoy life, every bit of it, if you actually want to live. Dr. Robi continued trying to encourage the patient to try to talk a little more about his own life, but Mr. Rahman kept mum.

Mr. Rahman actually hated being pitied on, but recently, being neglected by his wife and children got on his nerves. As a result, he tried doing something as silly as suicide to get their attention. Even his wife told him, that being so negative about life will have a long term negative effect on his life.

"You can consider me as a friend. Just knock at my door or give me a call when you need a pal". Robi said in a very comforting way, a warm smile lit up his face.

"Hello, Mr. Rahman, how are you feeling today?" Dr. Robi asked his newest patient. Untreated depression had led to suicidal tendencies, as a result, the forty-something father of two teens tried to end his life. Fortunately, the over dosage of sleeping pills could be washed out of his stomach.

"I've already lived long enough, doc, it's time to go now." Rahman kept on chanting.

Hello there pal, you don't decide when to die, God does. Robi tried to preach a little, which hardly helped his patient. Rahman had stopped taking meals at regular intervals, another way of torturing himself.

Rahman was a half-bald, fair skinned, slim man, unlike men of his age. Normally middle aged Bengali men put on a moderate amount of weight. Someone who wants to end life just at forty really seems abnormal, especially with a nice family to support.

"No, I'm never gonna sell it!" Frank spoke firmly as the two gentlemen beside him continued to offer attractive prices for the antique cement figure which resided on his reading table. Darkness enveloped his room, only the stone figure shone like the moon in the night sky. Frank looked up affectionately at it.

The statue is really part of his heart since a very early age. He had found the figure buried in his backyard when he was just a toddler. Now they're saying it has to be kept in the museum, it's part of a very ancient civilization. The figure was in a very unique position. It's fisted hand pointed forward, maybe asking others to cut through the darkness. Frank definitely did not want to part with it, it was his lucky charm.

I've always wanted to create a world of happiness and smiles. A lovely land with exquisite, eye-catching castles all around. I've always pictured myself on top of a castle, chasing white pegions. It felt almost like touching the sky.

The bright, yet soft light of the evening sun penetrating through the cloudy, dark sky reminds me of the glimmer of hope that resides in everyone's heart even if the destination seems far away. Hope sustains life, so one must try to hang on to their dreams even in difficult times.
