A British noblewoman, recently orphaned, fulfills a childhood dream. The deserts of Africa, gripped with mystery and promise, had always held a wonderment to the woman. As a person of wealth and privilege, she plans and executes an open ended tour of Egypt and its environs. There she becomes entwined with a cast of characters, forgers and scholars, soldiers and lovers, all encompassed by exotic and ancient traditions. How does our heroine exist and even prosper personally and professionally.

My island home offers nature's finest array. Quiet, even desolate during the winter, she offers her bosom to children of the wind and tide. A perfect place for a working writer to conjure.
