Our juvenile, delinquent, traumatized heroine is Bambi. Her life is quickly spiraling downhill as she vainly tries to gain control of the family, social and identity issues weaving her life around their little finger.
Her already complicated life is twisted even more when she accidentally stumbles into the world of Faery. Reoccuring nightmares she's had for years, of a battlefield strewn with decapitated and eviscerated alien bodies, holds a secret - kept even from Bambi, herself, forcing her into the war between Courts as Nineveh's and Sindri's pawn in their games.
A beautiful Fae, Caaleb, is her savior and seducer. He has her smitten from the very first moment. His breathtaking counterpart - the psycho psuedo-vampire, Damien - is on the hunt for her blood. Yet, even Damien has a dangerous allure and is slowly, but surely, drawing her in, try as she may to fight it.
Our dear Bambi may think she has everything figured out, but in this unnatural world where glamour rules and reality is a deceitful trim sewn along the edges; where kelpies wait just out of reach to rip a human to shreds; where a droplet of blood can turn into a valuable gem before your very eyes; and where the most dangerous looking beings are often the most helpful - nothing is as it seems.
You're in for one hell of a ride. Truth is shoved in your face every time your eyes are closed and falsehoods are in easy-to-find hiding spots. You'll meet creatures kinder and wiser than Mother Teresa, herself, and others that appear full of sympathy and valor until they pop your eyes like grapes. Beautiful; disgusting; horrendous; terrible; magnificent. No matter how you choose to spin it, this world is one you'll never forget. And by the end of it, you'll be schooled in the closer-to-realities of Faery. You'll wish you still thought they were all pixies dressed in bluebells.
