DEATH - miserable in his job, doesn't remember why he's doing it. He lives for the small pleasures, but after he meets the girl, even those small pleasures disappear. He wants very much to make her happy because she is so like him, but if he rushes headlong into it, he will burst open the seams of her existence and cause her to plunge into madness.

GIRL - represses most of her real emotions, and has gotten so good at manipulating them that she truly believes what she feels is real. She has a select few friends, although she is sociable and very likable. Meeting Death may be the thing that unwinds her very existence.
