The frail, knotted rope skims over the rocky, snow covered ground. Again, and again. Continuously. Finally I stop, setting the jump rope on a weight bench. My chest feels like it's vibrating after only fifty skips. Bang! Bang! Bang! Rattle, rattle! Almost as is in anger management, I wail away on the black, Everlast, punching bag. Attached to the rafters by chains, it rattles with every hit. Duct Tape. A supporter of the punching bag's structure. I hope it holds. Back and forth between the two. My heart was thundering before, now I take breaks to cough up tar from cigarettes. After four or five sets, the pre-workout cardio is complete. Sometimes I find it is helpful to have a place to write things down about my exercise routine, diet, and overall This Journal may also be useful to anyone else that is on their own journey, or that is thinking about embarking on one.
