It's time to start getting serious about my passion. I've finally set my foot down and 2012 is the year of writing. Why not? It's not like a day really goes by that I am not on the computer. Each day a new entry will take place based on a random prompt for one of many writing prompt sites. If I miss a day, yell at me!
At the end of the year, there will be 366 entries (it's leap year) and there's a good change one of them will turn into something bigger!

Thought/Idea/Dialogue, Magnify/Search, Flashlight/Spot, Tree/Forest, Lock/Secret, Cane/Walking Stick, Magic, Key, Flower/Plant
During Vorek's normal daily hike through Forest Park he noticed a light flickering on one of the side trails. Curious, he decided today seems like a good day for a change. Walking up to the tree near the trail split he found that it was covered with unusual silver flowers. While taking a closer look at once of the flowers, it started to sparkle. Startled, Vorek jumped back and began to search around the area to see if one of his friends was playing a trick on him.
Not wanting to believe that what he saw was real, he decided to take another look at the unusual tree. Circling around the tree, something caught his foot. Vorek fell to the ground as his foot caught what appeared to be an old walking stick. Before he could get back up, he noticed something flashing in the corner of his eye. Down by the base of the tree was a lock attached to a door hidden by the roots.
"This just keeps getting stranger," Vorek thought to himself.
"If I can find a key that will unlock this lock, I might be able to find the magic source to this here mystery."
Aaaand my brain has shut down. It looked easy when I first rolled the dice. But as I got halfway through I couldn't figure out how to place all keys into the story. Sure I could continue, but it's already been an hour and this is as far as I've gotten. Challenge accomplished!

Time.
The essence of time controls our being. Without it we are nothing but mindless drones set on repeat like a broken record. They say he who controls time will manipulate for his own selfish desires. Time is smarter than man, and can not falter.
Something a little Sci-Fi-ish. Time... takes too long when you're trying to get your children to bed.

First day is tough especially since I haven't been writing for a while. Hopefully they get better as time goes on.
Sudden roars of laughter
Loud cries of excitement
What goes down bounces back up
One, Two, Three times more
The repetitive cycle of an infant learning the joys of dropping toys that get picked back up by whomever passes by to play repeat.
