Okay... so here I am at 41 and I decide to write a book. I've been writing for quite some time, but have never taken on a project of this size. After preparing for three years, I get started... only to find myself getting divorced, having a major life change, and running amuck. Writing? What the hell is that????

How's the girlfriend working out? I hope you were wrong about scaring her off.

How was the meatloaf?

Did you make a meatloaf in the shape of a lamb? Where I grew up they did that with butter.

Although it may not seem funny now ... there is a scene in "Steam" (Italo-Turkish movie a.k.a. "Il bano turco" and "Hamam") where the wife has caught her husband kissing in the turkish bath and later confronts him with papers for a divorce stating that she had found another man. Her husband's response? "So have I".

I actually enjoy dancing. I just suck at it.

Yep again. I actually enjoy myself once I get over the shyness of making a fool out of myself. Then they need to drag me off the floor.

Yep. No reason to take it out on the person she's with.

I do understand the sense of loss and nothing to show for it. Hang in there (you don't want to give her anymore pleasure).

Well, was it the right day?

Isn't life fun!! Best of luck on the new business, sounds like you will get things worked out just fine. Be patient, after all, you have been for a long time I can see. It will all fall into place, one step at a time

It sounds as if you are being overworked. If you really want to keep doing so many things in one day, take it one step at a time. do one project, focus on it, when you're done, go on to the next one. don't get discouraged and if you are getting fatigued, it's time to take a break or cut down on activities.

I don't get a lot of time to write, either. I have two toddlers to watch, a house to clean and a yard with five foot weeds growing along the wall, covering a window. When I am able to write, it usually hits me all at once and the keys are burning before I run out of ideas.

Stephen King was an unemployed bum right before he was published. In my opinion he's still that, but now he gets paid very well for it. Go figure! Free unemployed time equals a lot of incentive to avert a very bleak future.
