These are more or less collected conversations between a young person and those she can hear, and in certain situations, see. But mostly she holds these conversations with the one referred to as "She" or "Her".

Location, time, and physical descriptions are unimportant to this project. That would just distract from the meaning. It's just conversation plain and simple.
