L'aura del campo

'é a lua, é a lua, na quintana dos mortos'
♣ Federico García Lorca ♣

L'aura del campo. A breeze in the meadow. So it began the last day of Spring, 2005; on the 16th day of the month of Light of the year 162. This is a supplement to my daily journal written to a friend, my muse; notes I do not share. Here I will share what the breeze has whispered to me.

"Blood of the Garlic: To straighten out any confusion: These ARE new writings and not merely editing old ones. I'll add the old ones into the same folder at WdC (when I can find them) but my numbers are based on NEW stories. 32 of them! Today, Sunday, I wrote 3 more. The entering and editing on-line is my transferring from paper to electronic storage (16 new ones on-line so far). My paper notebook doesn't have a word counter... and I'm not going to sit there and count!

I'm really hoping to get to 50k, although my personal goal was 30k. I keep thinking I'll run out of ideas, but no problem so far. I'm probably at 18k.

So, this may entail a total 80 new stories. Combined with the few old stories, there should be enough for a book. Of course, there is editing... which adds and subtracts (some of the stories may be too weak to keep).

I just keep on trucking... no time to get ill or distracted by worries or fun. All my creative energies have to be switched on and focused for me to achieve these goals.

Just writing! And doing some reading. Spring Geese, a book of Kansas poems written by Denise Low, is helping out.

I ate tuna and artichoke pasta today, a spinach croissant. The store was out of 2% milk. I drank quite a bit of coffee. I have a craving for chocolate...
