Works in a coffee / bookstore on the out skirts of town. Lives in a tiny apartment with her cat and dog and huge bay windows on the second floor. She tries moveing her hands a bit as she begins to look around tring to find a way off this thing. A nasty taste in her mouth almost metalalic as she tries to get the key into her bound hands and free herself. She accidently drops the key luckly it lands upon the conveyer belt in reach of her hands. Quickly reaching for it and relaseing her hands she sits up and undoes her feet to carefully step off the belt and onto the floor. Still uncertain of where or how she got here. "Think, think," she admonishes herself. "There has to be a way." Doing a kind of sit up, she stretches her arms up and tries to grab hold of the platform. She can feel it on her fingertips, but can't quite get a hold on it. "Use your head. What does that mean?" she thinks out loud. She starts swinging herself back and forth, hoping to give herself some leverage. In the process, she bumps her head on the platform. "Ow!" Wait, what's going on? The platform is suddenly eye level now. She reaches up, grabs it, and pulls herself onto it just in time. Oh! The rope! She remembers, suddenly. She quickly unties her feet, just in time, as the rope is pulled away. She lies down on the platform and closes her eyes. "Greg?" She calls out. No answer. There is a tapping on the window, like a pendulum beating in rhythm. She is too afraid to look. "Greg, come to bed!" Silence, "Greg this isn't funny! At least say something." She hurries to the door. The doorknob slowly turns and..... Greg wakes up with a horrible headache. "What the?" He's in his bathroom. Underneath him is a stool attached to a rope, and around his neck is a noose. "You took longer then I thought to wake my child. Unfortunately for you...the stool will be removed in 10...9...8...7...6-" Said a raspy voice from what sounded like a walkie-talkie. "What did I ever do to you?" Greg screams trying to free himself. However, his arms and legs are bound with barbed wire and when he moves them the wire starts cutting into his skin. "Never play with death and expect to come out unscathed. And I wouldn't move around too much if I were you. And incase you're tempted to scream there's a gun pointed down directly at your head with a not very sensitive sound senor. I programed it so it would only go off when loud enough to be heard outside of the room. Hopefully your girlfriend will realize your problem before you die." He finished with a raspy laugh. Then with a quick mechanical sound and scraping of wood against tile the stool was gone. Greg started making gurgling noises trying to get some air. His world started dimming and the thudding eventually made him pass out realizing he was going to die. The Housemaster is back in action! She sits and waits, frightened out of her mind. She runs out of the room. Somebody is defineatley here....... "Laura. I can see you managed to figure out my obvious clue. The next puzzle won't be as simple, remember two heads are better then one." The door behind her unlatches and swings open to the room with on door on each wall in the square room. She sees one door open with a woman standing looking at her with a puzzled face. "Mariah. I decided to let you off easy and not threaten you life...this time. I apologize for the loss of your friend, however you weren't sober enough to realize your beloved had been killed because of your lack of action. You managed not to fire the gun on the table next to the couch in what you think is your house, so you passed your test. Feel free to move on to the next room and be one step closer to salvation." With a clicking the door in the room that she thought was the front door of her house led out into a square room painted white with four doors where the others were waiting. Her mind races wildly wondered what the stranger means by other surviors and what house of horrors she may have entered into. Decideing that the other room has to be better then this one she steps cautiously over the threashold and awaits the others. Still careful not to really touch anything unless another trap may be set off. She looks around the room while waiting. There was another woman in the room. She looked as nervous and confused as Laura felt. She studied the woman, thoughtfully, not sure if she should say anything. The women exchanged names and told their horrific stories. They decided that sticking together may be the best thing to do. So Mariah, Laura, and Shanna make a packed to look out for each other. Suddenly the lights turn out and Mariah hears terrible screams. One brite light shines in her face. The others are gone. She is scared but she will survive. She won't let the evil take her over. "For this challanging puzzle you will notice you have no escape. There are no windows or doors in these new rooms you are standing in. Unfortunately Mariah, you need two people in your room to fully escape. If Shanna and Laura feel gracious enough they could take more time and try to figure out how to get you out as well. One thing, do mind your feet. The groud beneath you has many letters on the ground with a step to reset the combination, and an enter button to submit. There's a word that you must spell in order to remove the wall seperating you from this room and the next. I have been very patient with you and will give you 15 minutes before the attempts will be completely useless, and you only have 5 tries before the wall will be locked in place forever. However, I have allowed a PA system in these rooms so you can discuss with each other what you think it is. Here's the clues, 'It can be broken. It beats. It is the essence of life. You will need one of these to help Mariah.' It's elementary, but I don't want to make things impossible for you. Remember, don't press the diamond submit key until your ready. And if you want to clear the stones you stepped on, which will light up when in use, press the square key. Good luck." But at least this time she isn't alone. And at least they are not completely cut off from one another. She runs the clues over and over in her head not excatly sure she is right. She suggests that a heart can be broken and it beats it is also essential for life. But then again so does a brain and water she looks at lauren and then at the wall seperateing them all. What about a heart? she asks the others but unable to think of any other such words at the moment. © Copyright 2006 Mitch, Darkstorm, Mrs. Penguin, secret agent, (known as GROUP).
