| [Introduction]
Make it funny, make it a Sci-fi. Whatever, its up to you! But please write in the 2nd person using "you" and do not change the gender of the main character. Try to have fun with this. It can be as silly as someone going to a fast food joint on a parallel universe. Or traveling miles in space and winding up in a white living room. (Like at the end of 2001 Space Odessey.) Oh, and feel free to introduce romantic relationships but please keep them conventional. In the beginning ... In the beginning, there was darkness and night.... And the darkness was total, and the night was complete. And there was a vast emptiness in everything. All time was AT ONCE, and all space was EVERYWHERE. There was no form, no shape, no boundaries. And then...to everything there was given a boundary. There was a universe, and there was a beginning, and there was an end. And so there was time. And then there was light! Luminaries lit the darkness with sparkling brilliance. And there were solid forms and shapes. There were planets. And then there was consciousness. There was no longer EVERYTHING happening AT ONCE EVERYWHERE. There was identity, there was singular identity... There was YOU! You open your eyes and out of the featureless expanse you see stars and planets stretching off into what seems like infinity. Who are you? Why are you here? What will you do now? Each of those questions vye for your attention. Your self-awareness tells you that you are not a baby, but that you are a young woman, a human female not much past her 21st birthday. [Though you do wonder how you know anything at all about humans or human babies.] Suddenly, the light directly in front of you gets brighter and brighter and eventually you see a staircase ascending within it. Though you wonder where this strange staircase might lead, you realize that there is only one option...to take the staircase of light. But, in which direction...Up or Down? |
