| [Introduction]
Teens are tested on, and have been granted abilities, by scientists and doctors who work at "Hatterson's Haven for Foster Care". To the public, the old ranch style house is a good thing, helping orphaned or abused children find homes. But once your in, you never get out. When people come looking for foster kids, they give them brain-wiped kidnaped children that were found on the street, and not the real inhabitants of Hatterson's. For those who live inside, they are tested on daily, share rooms according to gender, train (mostly spying and espionage), and have a little time for leisurely activities such as TV, or drawing. The old house looks harmless, but those who live inside know differently. The windows are bulletproof, every door has a metal locking sequence, the fence can be turned on to an electrical discharge, and attempts to escape aren't taken lightly. The rules are easy. Obey, and you will do through everything with the least pain possible. Disobey, and you are punished. I think I will keep it to five people (not including myself, so first come, first serve.) --- -No cursing, sex, or graphic violence -The ages for the teens are 17 to 19, if you choose to be the leader of the HHFC operation, you can be as old as you like. -You have three days to add -Their will be three other people with powers, my character, and the leader of the HHFC -I need someone to play the leader. You do bad things, but maybe you have good intentions. Like finding a cure for cancer, or just the amazing things you've discovered in science. Maybe you think the government of the U.S needs a talkin' to. Maybe North Korea pays better. Or maybe your just strange. (You are cruel in your punishments, but seem to be only trying to teach them a lesson. You call them your children.) [If you want the part, email me. If no one does, then the last person to join will be the leader. (sorry >.< we just need a leader.)] -You are not allowed to join if you don't want to have fun. -HAVE FUN! |
Name: Max Walker Age: 17 Appearance: Light brown hair and blue eyes, of average hight for his age, and lean and fit, due to all the exercise he gets. Powers: The ability to go through anything except lead (which all the walls in the house are, the outside gate coated with it), empathy, and the ability to blend into the shadows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Max walked through the halls of the second story of the building, a sketch pad in his hands, his other hand drawing furiously. He stopped for a moment when he saw a vent in the ceiling, and added it to the paper. He noted the window at the end of the hall. Max walked over to it gently slid his finger over the glass. It was so good it would always fool the visitors. It felt and looked just like a regular window, but it wasn't. It was army grade bulletproof glass. Most of the windows in the house didn't open at all, and if they did, they only opened a third of the way, and had an alarm if you even put your arm outside. He added the two windows that were there as you walked up or down the stairs. He looked around, making sure no one was there. It was free time so most everyone was doing their own thing in their rooms. But still, better safe than sorry. They would be allowed to go outside to play in the backyard in about twenty minutes, so it wouldn't be empty for long. Max slipped quietly down the stairs. He passed the kitchen, which was locked at all times other than meals, and stopped at the one way window into the "living room". A family was talking to one of the workers, and a child was sitting on the couch. This was their farce. If people came looking for children, they were given runaways, or those who'd been kidnapped. Their memories of those events were erased, of course. And despite how sick it was in reality, Max was happy that the kid would be free. It was a lot more than he could say for himself. Max craned his neck, hearing the sound of air conditioning. He quickly sketched the vent onto his paper. Every detail counted. He heard someone coming down the hall and he quickly flipped the pages of his sketchbook, to a picture of a tiger. He retraced some of its stripes, pretending that he had just drawn them. When he looked up his heart couldn't help but skip a beat. It was one of the few workers. "Your father wants to see you." The man said, his voice stern. Max didn't say anything but followed the man down the hall, the man stopping at a big oak door. The way into his "fathers" office. He took in a deep breath and opened the door. Age: 23 Appearance: Black hair down to the middle of his black, collected in a tie there. Athletic build, though he is toned, not buff. His eyes are pupiless and black, as they serve as the gateway for most of his abnormal abilities. Powers: To say mind control would be to put it lightly. Control indicates that there's some sort of ability to refute it, to throw off it's shackles. There is no such gap in his abilities. He can completely dominate you and rip what he wants from your mind without you able to do a thing. Or he can cut in with the precision of a knife and force you to do his will with you thinking it your own. Better phrased as mental domination. Note: Though young, he was put in charge of this facility due to his own powers to combat those of the residents. He himself is a graduate of the “Academy”. Under heavy scrutiny by his superiors due to his own questionable intentions, and most decisions about the camp are not actually made by him. ---- Miro waited behind his mahogany desk, his hands calmly affixed before him as he sat, waiting for the one he had chosen to call to him. This boy was trying to get out, to escape. Miro had seen it in his eyes, in his mind, and now he would rip it from his mind if need be. The door slowly opened, and the skittish boy skittered in, avoiding Miro's condemning gaze. Miro himself rose up from his seat, the imperialistic air of control that surrounded him gave him the illusion of being much older then he was, and the utter control with which he held himself only reinforced the illusion. “Father.” The boy spoke evenly while inclining his head in a mockery of respect. Miro chuckled softly at the obvious lunacy that governed this place. He was their jailer, locking them here for reasons they could never understand. He was not fully sure he did either. “You want to escape.” It was not a question. It was a statement. The boy shuffled nervously. So he fears me, Miro thought. That's good. “You do not escape from this place. We're very much alike you and I. I lived here too once. I too wanted to find my way out, and nearly did. But even I failed in the end, we all do. And I was punished. He casually turned his back to the child and flicked off his coat and shirt, revealing his backside. There was an angry black mark on his back, burned in from the repeated jabbing of some burning object. It seemed to of never quite healed. He put his shirt back on just as casually and turned back to the boy, calmly taking the notebook from him and flipping it to the schematic of the airways he had been designing. “No one ever escapes.” He repeated once more, sending the message into the boys mind using his powers as he did, impressing it on his mind. Age: 18 Appearance: skinny and tall and gangly. He's not built at all and is rather clumsy. Short brown hair and grey eyes. Powers: Benji doesn't really know what to call his powers. He's able to take something solid, something that has matter, and transport it into the empty space around us. It's like he sees two worlds at once, our world and blank, black space. He can keep it there however long he likes, but he has to concentrate on it. If he looses concentration the object comes back into being in our world. He can take as many things as he wants and put them into the space, but he has to keep concentration on every one of them, so it's very difficult. He hasn't yet mastered large objects. Other: Benji's a bit of a wuss. He's the type of kid who the older and stronger kids bully. ------- Benji was glad to be finally away from everyone else. In truth, he didn't hate the place so much, just the testing and stuff. He liked having a secure home and never having to get out of his comfort zone. Well, besides when anyone bullied him, which was kind of often. When Benji ever found time to himself, he spent it daydreaming. He took out his locket (yeah, kind of girly, he admitted, but it was a comfort) to look at the pictures inside. Benji had been taken to this house and locked away when he was ten. His parents probably thought he'd been kidnapped, and the police were maybe still looking for his 'murderer'. Or maybe they'd tacked his on to a list of some other criminal's killings. Benji didn't know and didn't care too much. On one side of the locket was a picture of a beautiful and beaming young girl, Benji's twin sister, Carlotta. He hadn't seen her in eight years. She didn't have freakish powers like he did. They didn't take her with him. On the other side was a family picture, his mom, dad, himself, and Carlotta. He missed them every day, but he knew they'd given up any hope of seeing him again. Luckily, he hadn't given up his hope- of getting out and proving he was still alive. Name:Alex Garside Apperance: Alex is an average looking like with typical plain features of some one who lives in Montanna. He has Short croped Light brown hair and brown eyes. The only thing he allways has on him is a silver watch that he wears on his right wrist. Powers: Alex calls it "Flashing" He sees things that happen just before they do, and typicaly his body responds to it before he can comprehend what is happeing Ex.( Some one fires a gun at him. Alex might drop Just as the shot rings out, and miss being killed.) Other: Alex is an easy going person for the most part, but he is pushed into a fight rather easily and is regarded as something of a hot head.Alex wont back down from damn near anything and made the Mistake of confronting Miro... once....Hes also smart and somewhat of a History buff quoteing history as much as possible. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- "YOWW!" Alex yelped in pain as the Cotton swob laced with rubbing alchoal touched the cut under his cheek. The nurse sighed and dobbed it agin. He mummbled something about Hernando De Soto, than stood up. The nurse just clucked like an angry hen and said " When will you learn Alex to stop starting things like this" Alex let out a long sigh " i didnt Start I..." but the nuse cut in " Everyweek people are comeing in here with all sorts of black eyes and fat lips, and every week your involed so that leads me to..." This time Alex cut her off " Do you Really think Miro would let me get away with just starting fights every week?!?!?! like i said i dont start anything". With that Alex Steped out of her office. On his way out he looked into the room were the four others lay on cots. One had a broken nose. the others just seem to be banged up. Alex shook his head. Miro would be down here and raid all of there minds and find out the truth, than he would Punish them, Alex kinda felt sorry for them in a way, but it was there own fault. You just dont Bully around his room mate like that. Alex passed Many people on his way to his dorm, when he got there he opend the door And threw him self down on the leather chair next to the computer monitor. He looked over at his room mate who didnt even see him come in Still Day dreaming and looking at the weird Locket he allways kept. His name was Benji and everyone picked on him. Alex liked the kid everyone else seemed not to. which was a big problem when they bullied him. Alex addmited he had an anger problem and well, he looked at benji kinda like a brother he never had. And you dont....ever mess with family Age: 19 Appearance: Pegasus is slightly taller than average height and has a normal build, although he is quite muscular now due to physical training. He usually wears black ‘skinny jeans’ which look like they're made of leather, a plain white shirt and a black coat over that. His hair is naturally ice white and long enough to be untidy and ragged looking. He has strange jade-blue eyes that stand out from his olive skin. Power: His power is ‘taken’ from the meaning of his name. Pegasus is not just a feathery-winged horse, it also means ‘strong’ and ‘from a water spring’. So Pegasus’ power is to control water/ice or anything related. Also, he can form the water and merge it with himself, which is where the feathered horse comes in. He can ‘make’ himself wings and a tail of ice that react as if it is part of his body itself, which allows him to fly. For convenience, he can get rid of his ice wings, although his body is always cold, never even a touch warm, which means temperature does not affect him. IMPORTANT NOTE: Pegasus is actually blind. However, he can sense the consistencey of water particles in the air and in objects, which means he basically can sense everything around him, makes him appear as if he's not disadvantaged. Other: Completely against everything that happens in the orphanage. Everyone was taken against their will. His parents found out about his power just before they came to take him. They died trying to protect them. Miro has constant trouble of him trying to escape, which eventually cost him his sight. He's not very talkative, the only person he is really truthful with is Max. ------------------------------------------------------ Pegasus went past Miro's office, but paused as he realised that Max's water build-up was in there. Without thinking, Pegasus opened the door and entered and walked up to face Miro. As well as he could face him anyway. Pegasus had lost his sight over two years ago after what seemd to be his five billionth attempt at escape. Miro got really angry, he was so close to losing one of his 'precious sons'. So they had tortured him. Somehow, his eyes had remained intact, people had told him, but he would never again see the light of day. Miro stared at Pegasus. "Ah, good, just the person I wanted to see. Max you are dismissed. Just remember what I told you." Max nodded, and left the room, glancing sideways at Pegasus. "Now, Pegasus. I need to discuss some matters with you too." About twenty minutes later they were all ushered out the back door for outside "playtime". Max sat in the grass, trying to make the thoughts that had been forced into his head go away. He could escape! No matter what Miro, or anyone else told him. And he would... eventually. Pegasus sat down next to him and he smiled at his friend. "Got in trouble, did you?" Pegasus asked. "I lost my drawing privileges." Max said, leaning his head back on his hands and stretching out his legs. "I see." Pegasus said plainly. "No you don't!" Max pushed him playfully. "I meant I get it." Pegasus said smiling, now joining Max in laying on the ground. "Doesn't that cloud look like a bunny?" Max looked up into the sky, and tried to find the cloud in question. "The one with the tall part as an ear?" He asked. "Yeah." Max turned his head. "Or its a flamingo... if you turn it upside-down." "One day we'll see this on the outside." Pegasus said, then added smiling. "-figuratively." Everyone knew that Pegasus was blind. But he could still see water moisture, which explained why he could "see" people, and clouds, etc. He'd tried to escape, and he'd been tortured. "He didn't do anything to you, did he?" Pegasus asked, turning his head toward Max. "Other than try to brainwash me? No." Max sighed. He was good with emotions to begin with, but with his empathy powers it almost hurt how much his friend cared for him. He wished dearly that there was something he could do to restore His friends sight. "He likes you." Pegasus smirked. "Uh huh." "Well, he hasn't done anything really painful to you, and you've planned many an escape." Pegasus said. "I don't think that man has the ability to like. And if he does, its just as sick and twisted as the rest of him." Max sighed again. "All children please report inside immediately." A voice on a radio said. Pegasus stood and Max reluctantly followed. "I thought we had like ten minutes left." Pegasus said as they walked toward the house. "We did." Max frowned. "Looks like we have another assignment." Usually it was robbing banks or something. Max nodded to Alex and Benji, his other friends, as they gathered around Miro, waiting to hear what they had to do. They continuedand gathered around Miro. "Today," he started. "We are attempting a robbery. But this time is' a big robbery, and not just for money. We want some information from a company called 'The Trading Company'. We think that they are onto us, and there are too many of them for us to track down and brainwash before the information spreads. As soon as they realised thatwe had done something to their people, they will give the infromation to everyone in power. We are calling for a special task force of people. It will consist of no more than four people. I will call students to my office that have already made the team. Somehave already been called forward. Some students have already been called forth, and have accepted the deal." Pegasus and Max looked at each others and nodded when they both understood what Miro had talked to them about. Both had accepted the deal. They knew what th reward was if they completed the mission successfully, and it was what they desired most. Freedom. Both of them knew that Miro wouldn't offer this without a catch or by going back on his word in some way,but the offer was too seductive to pass up. "The task force will be in and out of the building as soon as possible, and all they need to do is download all of the information they have onto this,(the held up a USB) and then delete the information on the company's computer. I will call forth the students this afternoon. Now go back toa complete the remainder of your free time. The students filed outside again, the precious feeling of sun on skin a luxury they would not pass up. Pegasus stepped carefully over the metal this time, wondering what it was.But it didn't matter, as long as he didn't trip over it. Max and Pegasus sat away from others, and started to discuss the situation. "Do you think that he's telling the truth?" Asked Pegasus. "I don't know. I don't think he would really want of lose one of his 'precious children. over something so easy. Maybe it's more important than he's letting on." "If we do leave. he'll brainwash us for sure. As horrific as it is, I don't want to forget my time here. It would raise so many questions if I didn't remember how I got like this, how I... lost my sight."Max'spowe kicked in, andhe felt how much sorrow Pegasushad about losing his sight. Hefelt how, more then anything,Pegasus wanted his sight back. Max sighed. "Don't worry.it'll work out somehow. Iwonder who else will bechosen?" Miro sat in his office. Alone. He sighed to himself and tilted back in his chair, rubbing his eyes dismally. How he hated his job. He got up and went to his door, hanging a "do not disturb" sign on the outside, then turned to an ornate chest sitting on one side of his office. The chest had no opening or visible keyslot, only a thin eye emblazoned on the seam. Miro rubbed his finger on it and sent out a questing tendril of thought into the eye. {The word?} it asked. IT was a security system Miro had designed, one that only he could breach with his powers. {Mira.} The chest popped open, the eye split into two halves. from inside it, Miro carefully pulled a few objects and set them up on the small table nearby for this express purpose. IT was a small shrine, with a picture set up of Miro, a woman, and a little girl between them. He smiled at the picture sadly, then retrieved a few candles from the chest. He lit them and started his prayers. "You miss them don't you?" A voice said from behind him. Miro started and tuirned, to see HIM. The Headman, the true leader behind this twisted operation. Miro composed himself immediately. THis man thought he was in his pocket. "Big mission coming up. Suceed and we'll give them back to you." He said, and it was then that Miro saw that it was not really the Headman, just one of his flunkies. He relaxed perceptibly. "We will succeed. If it takes every child in this home, I swear we will succeed." "Good for if you do not, you'll never see them again." Miro stood up fast as a lioghtning bolt at this. "What. are. you. going. to. do. to. them?" He growled out slowly, between deep breaths. "I will have the pleasure of personnally executing them." the man said, taunting Miro with his delighted tone of voice. He continued: "So what should I tell the boss?" "Tell him this!" And Miro snapped. The tendrils he had sent against Max became a Torrent, the scalpel that had manipulated Max's mind became a sword, severing all the connections in this mans. He washed through years of feeling, years of memories, only to see this man was a s corrupt as he looked. Then it was over, as quickly as it had begun. THe man slumped, his mind gone. Miro laughed. The Headman surely knew this would happen. The flunkie was a fool. Slowly Miro sent out another tendril, this time implanting on message in the man. "We will go, and should we fail, consider your life forfeit if you touch them." He sent the men out, then returned to his prayers. OOC: And you're all going to help me :p. And stp[ making me look like a tyrant. He just does what he's ordered, see?
