Wiskers
Name: Aria Snow

Code Name: Silence

Rank: Level 9. The most powerful psychic they have.

Role: Psychic. Has varied "mind tricks", as well as telepathy and slight telekinesis. Is used to extract information discreetly.

Age: 20

Appearance: Aria is slender, but fairly average in build, albeit modest curves. She has long dark brown hair that goes to the small of her back, with bangs that end near her eyebrows. Her eyes are a honey brown, but when she uses her powers they turn an icy white.

FarynKatz: NaNoWriMo crazed!
Name: Erick Grayson

Code Name: Foxx

Rank: Commander. Erick is the head of the most elite group of mercenaries.

Role: Mercenary. Being commander, Erick has also had training in some of the Ninja secrets. He has also had past experience with the Psychics, but he almost never speaks about it.

Age: Somewhere around forty.

Appearance: Erick is a sort of muscular man, with broad shoulder. Try to picture G.I Joe or a logger. He has short dark brown hair, wears glasses, and a brown mustache. Erick hardly ever smiles- he takes his work very seriously and tries to train others to take it seriously as well. Erick pretty much lives where he works, so he's rarely ever outside the facilities- only for missions.

LdyPhoenix    Name: Reid Gideon Thomas

Code Name: Obi (short for Obi-Wan; a team joke)

Rank: Lieutenant; works under Commander Grayson.

Role: Reid was raised as a ninja and became an expert by the time he was sixteen. He's skills for reading people's expressions and motives have made people weary of his presence. Reid joined Foxx's group of mercenaries for an exchange of trades: his ninja skills for their military techniques and weapons.

Age: 24

Appearance: Reid is tall and slender, almost as if his limbs are too big for his body. He has messy dirty blond hair that falls down over his ears and sight. His eyes are dark brown and they often see way too much. Reid is quiet but is always watching and calculating. He has a huge wealth of knowledge, making him appear to be older beyond his years, but sometimes he can act like a little boy if he's happy or finds something interesting which isn't often.

pamjay    Name: Alyce Jeanne D'Argle.

Code Name: Strings.

Rank: Private.

Role: Mercenary. She is an expert assassin, familiar with most weapons. Her loyalty to her motherland, France, has completely evaportated. She has worked in many countries since she was 18 and has a high amount of familiarity with different cultures and countries - an infinite gain when the Corps work overseas.

Age: 22.

Appearence: Alyce has a clear complexion. Her caramel brown hair hangs in ringlets around her face, reaching just past her shoulders. She has dark green eyes. Slender and curvy, she uses her appearence to her advantages. She is not modest, but she is clever.

Wiskers
Aria sipped her tea and pretended to scan the newspaper.

They were nearing the completion of a mission in France. This would be there last day, if they did their jobs right.

She flashed a dazzling smile at the waiter who had come by to refill her water.

He started mumbling something and nearly tripped over himself.

Her eyes were her most powerful weapon. They could strike fear into the hardest of hearts, or bring to flame love that did not exist.

She hadn't actually meant anything that time, but then again she wasn't exactly normal.

Suddenly they appeared. Alyce Jeanne D'Argle, had one of her arms hooked with Luc Bedier, one of France's dirtiest men; who had a hand in everything, from prostitution, to drug trafficking, to the police. They were leaving one of his meeting places, where he'd just made a big deal indeed.

Six digits, big.

They were over to a limo, guarded by at least two armed men.

After they left they would be heading to L'hotel de tour de Rois, or "the Kings Hotel". By far the fanciest place anywhere near there.

"I found them. They're getting into the limo, then to the hotel."

"Silence, is it too much to ask that you use the dang communicator? I don't like it when your in my head." Reid's voice came through the microphone in her ear.

"Sorry, I didn't even realize I was doing it." She replied.

"Both of you, stay focused." Erick's gruff voice sounded. "You sure their going back to the hotel? Our sources said they were heading to the South of France."

"Your sources." She began icily. "Were wrong."

There was silence for a moment.

"Alright, move out."

FarynKatz: NaNoWriMo crazed!    Erick just burned his tongue on this coffee. That's what you get for instant crap and a dirty HQ microwave.

He set down his mug and rubbed his forehead. His sources were wrong. His sources were always wrong- why did he even pretend to rely on them? Mostly because they were all he had to go on.

He pressed a button on the communicator and spoke to Reid. "Take your group and double around to the hotel. Don't follow them. Don't do anything rash unless you have word from me. " he instructed the boy.

"Got it," came Obi's voice, slightly annoyed. The old man was always telling him not to do anything rash, but he had to learn.

"Silence, stick to the plan. You know what you need to do, and do it by any means necessary. We cannot afford to lose those papers," Erick told Aria, pressing another button on the communicator.

He was about to push the button for communicator number three, but he remembered that Strings had decided to forego her communicator, that Luc would see it and become suspicious.

Erick hadn't wanted to take the chance, but he knew that Luc was indeed shifty and insightful. He hoped that Strings would get her mission done and get out. There would always be something that would go wrong, and Erick prayed that it would be something minimal.

"Foxx?" Erick was eased out of his thoughts at Silence's voice in his head. He did not mind her choice of communication as much as Obi did, he found it a bit of a comfort, though he could not talk directly back to the girl.

"We have a problem. I can't find them," she said, urgency creeping into her voice.

"You can't find them?" Erick asked into her communicator, his brow creasing.

"I've lost them too Foxx, there's no sight of them," Reid added. Erick peered at his coffee mug and knew that all plans had to be abandoned before Luc or Alyce or someone else messed up their mission.

"Get in there- now!"

LdyPhoenix    "Move!" Reid signaled to the four men behind him.

The group had been moving in slowly before Foxx's command, weapons ready at their sides. Reid was still trying to get used to the forceful nature of which their unit worked together, and in extreme cases, fought together. Had he been alone, he would have stayed silent and approached the situation on a much stealthier level.

But as Foxx was always reminding him, he wasn't alone anymore.

Even going through the service entrance caused a stir with the cooking and cleaning staff working in the kitchen. The mute colors of their uniforms didn't hide the fact that they were obviously not meant to be there. As trained professionals, they ignored the shouts in French to get out, moving in formation as fast as they could up the back elevator.

The sixteenth floor of the L'hotel de tour de Rois was quiet as they moved outside Bedier's registered room. It was the high roller suite with multiple entry-ways that made Reid nervous. If they made the wrong decision Alyce was history, and so were the papers.

"Go through the main door," came Aria's voice in his head.

While hearing her in his head was unnerving most of the time, Reid was thankful for the psychic's power at the moment. "Affirmative, Aria."

He signaled the unit's tech forward, the soldier by the name of Goren, a master key card in hand. Any iota of surprise worked in their favor, even if the instinct was to break down the door. Nodding a go, they stormed in, weapon high.

The sight before Reid made him frown in frustration. He hit the button on his communicator. "We've got a problem."

"What?" Foxx barked.

"They're not here, Commander." He gaze scanned the empty room, each connecting door opened to give a full view of the suite. Each soldier had broken off to check the remaining spaces. Each had come back with a shake of their heads. "This room hasn't been touched. Where ever Benier is leading Alyce, it isn't here."

pamjay    Alyce stroked Luc's face, feigning adoration as the spoke in the limo.

"Mon cherie? My darling? What was that all about? I didn't understand a word," she flashed a smile.

He smiled at her. "Just a deal."

"But a big deal. I heard them say million?"

He laughed. "Yes, a big deal. You are more observant than I give you credit for, Leah."

She giggled sheepishly, more to his use of her cover-name, than anything else. She was much more observant than he would ever know.

"So where are we going Luc?" she asked, trying to maintain conversation.

"We're going to take a little ferry ride on the Seine."

Alyce's face fell, that wasn't part of the plan. She regained composure within a few seconds, but not quick enough for Luc to notice.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked, glaring at her suspiciously. He was quick to suspect, its how he became so powerful.

She pretended to fiddle with the V-neckline of her blouse, drawing attention to her breasts. A man was most easily reassured by a lustful response, than mere words.

"I just," she looked down, acting embarrased.

"Yes?" he asked, his eyes preoccupied, but his voice still wary.

"I was just hoping it'd be us, tonight. You know?" she looked at him mournfully.

Luc laughed, all previous apprehension gone. "Later, Leah. I promise."

"Oui," she answered "Okay".

Alyce looked out the tinted windows of the limo and tried to figure out a plan. She'd have no back-up, she doubted Aria's 'hearing' would find her on the other side of Paris. Those papers Luc had in his briefcase were crucial. She knew the pincode to the briefcase, but how she'd escape was beyond her planning.

For the first time during the mission, Alyce was worried.

Lonewolf - Catching up    Name: Shadow

Code Name: Shadow

Rank: Special Forces (Only takes orders from Commander Grayson)

Role: His role in the group is to be called in as an absolute back up because once he is on the job he does whatever he has to, to get the job done. Snake Eyes is a martial arts master, having grown up into a ninja family the famed Red Dragon Assassins, but little is known after that as files on his past has been labeled classified. He does not talk to anyone, the only way he communicates is through hand gestures, and when those do not work, he will whistle, and a gravelly, yes or no. If that fails, he takes things in his own hands to get things finished.

Age: 28

Appearance: Standing six feet one inch tall with an athletic build, crew cut black hair and sharp grey eyes, he keeps protected behind specially created visual goggles. Shadow has a lean muscular build but always continues to hone his body whenever he gets a chance to hit the gym. He usually is seen wearing all black ninja gear except for the thin goggles made to look like glasses.

"They're not here, Commander." He gaze scanned the empty room, each connecting door opened to give a full view of the suite. Each soldier had broken off to check the remaining spaces. Each had come back with a shake of their heads.

"This room hasn't been touched. Wherever Benier is leading Alyce, it isn't here."

“What! Arrgah! Stay there and comb every inch of that place and find Alyce!” Foxx yelled into the communicator.

“Shadow, are you there?” Foxx asked, frustrated.

Shadow had known Foxx from long ago. Their past is one of legend in their group, especially how they first met on the battlefield. Foxx was the only one to match Shadow at tender age of ten under the circumstances in which they met, and then later after the fighting, was finished. Foxx took Shadow in as his son, though his name really is not Shadow; it is the only name to which he will respond. Another reason Shadow is a special case is because telepathy is useless with him.

“Are you still doing what I asked?” Foxx asked, doing what Shadow knew he was doing by stroking the vein that tends to reveal itself when he is vexed.

“Yes,”

“Great! Can you help Alyce?”

“Yes.”

“Is Alyce close to the other team?”

“No.”

“Okay, I’ll inform the others. Help Alyce as best you can, but I want you both to come back alive, so do what you do best.”

“Yes.”

Shadow kept up easily with the Limo as it drove through the streets of Paris, finally coming to a stop in front of a hotel. Foxx had asked Shadow to follow Alyce before the mission fully got underway, but told him to stay well hidden, something he really did not need to say, because that was one of Shadow’s specialties. Shadow had seen through the deception of the prey they were trying to catch watching intently from the rooftops of the buildings opposite the mission area.

Rain began to drizzle casting a faint white glow on everything turning a beautiful morning into one of gloom. Shadow jumped from the building he was on to the railing of the apartment as stealthy as a cat, and then crossing ever so slowly to the pole beside that he used the change in weather to his advantage to slide down as smooth as a snake.

Stalking toward the limo he knew to contain Alyce, he placed himself directly behind the limo waiting for the perfect time to strike. The limo door open and Shadow made his move.

Wiskers
"They... weren't in the hotel." Obi's voice came through the comm.

"Of course they weren't!" Aria hissed. "Doesn't anyone listen to me?"

"Maybe we would if we new for sure we weren't going mad!"

"Both of you, shut it. Shadow's out." Foxx murmured.

A chill of fear and excitement tingled through her. This should be interesting...

She closed her eyes and let her mind roam, reaching out for her friend.

"Alyce?" She asked?

She new Alyce couldn't answer back, but was pretty certain she could hear her.

"Stay put. Shadow is on his way, and the others are not far behind."

She opened her eyes.

Hmm... time for a change of scenery.

FarynKatz: NaNoWriMo crazed!    Erick rubbed his eyes. He was getting too old for this, his crew becoming more and more disobedient and flighty. Look at Alyce- where in the world was she and what was she thinking? Why had she not stuck to the plan!

"Aria, can you find Alyce?" he asked, struggling to keep himself together, resisting the urge not to rage at the incompetence that really wasn't the group's fault anyway.

"I think so," the girl replied. She sounded doubtful with a hint of confidence. While he'd've liked a bit more of a sure answer, he decided to take the chance he had been presented.

"Well, if you can, track her." he instructed. He was itching to join the mission, which was, quite frankly, impossible, seeing as his crew was in France, while he was here, stuck at headquarters, commanding them like the puppet master pulling the strings.

"Shadow's doing his job," he said. He had no doubts that Shadow would pull through once again and get both Alyce and the papers. In fact, Erick would be just fine with only the papers. They could always come back for Alyce, couldn't they?

If Erick knew Luc, scumbag though he was, he'd keep a pretty little plaything around a lot longer than he should. Alyce wasn't just another source of entertainment for him.

And that was precisely why he'd sent Alyce on that special part of the mission. "I have no doubts in him. But you'll probably all need to cover your tracks once he's done and out of there." he finished telling his crew.

"On it," Aria spoke in his head. Erick sat back down at his desk, resting his eyes for just a moment before Shadow's voice sounded in his ears.

"I've got the papers."

LdyPhoenix    Reid sat in the corner of the unit's van, legs folded one over the other in a full lotus position, the throbbing pain in his head starting to push past his reserve. In this time and place he felt useless. It was taking them way too much time to meet up with Alyce at her given destination. He wanted to get out, and try to make it to the spot on foot. Just sitting and waiting was making him twitch. And he didn't twitch.

Breathing deeply, staring start at the adjacent inner van wall into nothingness, Reid pushed back the pressure building in his skull. Being apart of the team was a nuisance. Especially when they could sneak inside your head. He missed his solo work.

"Find her?" He asked Aria through the communicator.

"Possibly...if I could have quiet for concentration."

Calm. Think calm. He released his breath for a count of ten, closing his eyes in the process. There was no use denying it - he was meant to be a solitary creature. The twitching was proof of that.

"Shadow should be there by now," Aria said absently into his mind.

"Of course he is." Lucky fool. He gets to work alone.

"Stop sulking." Reid felt his calm turn to a frown. "What's your ETA?"

He turned to Goren on his right. "ETA?"

"Five."

Reid relayed the information over the comm like a normal human being.

"Good because Shadow's got the papers."

He exhaled once more, opening his eyes and unfolding his limbs. "Show time."
