[Introduction] Where this idea came from:
Every year, my Mum, Dad and my little sister go on Holiday to North Wales. My sister and I will often get bored so we do a campfire story in the car ride there entitled 'No Dragons Allowed'!. It's always been such fun and I wondered what would happen if I let others join the fun! (all characters featured are fictional).

The plot line:
It's a lovely summer and Abbey, Ben and their Mum and Dad are on holiday in Wales. On their journey they encounter a dragon who decides to tag along. Along the way, Bryn and the family make friends in Eofn and Gwlân who help them along the way. But in a county where there are no dragons allowed outside of the Welsh hills, what will the family do?

Characters:
Abbey, Ben, Mum, Dad and Bryn the Dragon must be included throughout the story.
Eofn the Monkey and Gwlân the Sheep have to be featured somewhere but my drift in and out of the plot line.
Any other characters you wish to introduce is totally up to you!
Jazzie    Abbey gazed out of the window as the scenery rolled by feeling bored out of her mind. Ben her little brother was sitting beside her babbling on about something no body was listening to, while Mum and Dad wrestled with the map in the front. They were traveling through the great Welsh hills and passing some pretty amazing scenes.
"Right, that's it." Dad said pulling the car over to the side of the road, "Let's take a break." They piled out of the car and Abbey took a long deep breath, inhaling the fresh air. Ben bounced around complaining of pins and needles and Mum lay the map out on the bonnet of the car, trying to make sense of it. Abbey was amazed by the blue sky's and lush, green grass.
"Look!" Ben shouted suddenly, "Look! Look! A sheep!"
"We're in Wales, Ben." Abbey sighed, "The definition of the word sheep."
"Look!" He tugged at her sleeve until she turned to see a chubby little sheep looking right at them. "He's all fluffy!" The sheep gave a long 'baaaa!'
"Why's he out all alone?" Abbey wondered out loud and as she gazed at the sheep she was sure he winked. She gasped. "Stay here Ben." She ordered and her brother pouted but stay put.

Abbey wandered over to the sheep and approached him cautiously.
"Hello." She murmured, "Hey little sheepy sheepy." He gave another 'baaaa!' She sighed. "Great." She mumbled, "I'm talking to a sheep."
"And now I'm talking baaaack." A little voice answered and her head spun around to look at the sheep who was staring intently at her.
"Y-You didn't just... talk?" She asked.
"Why yes Maaaaadam. I did." He said nodding. Abbey's eyes grew wide and she heaved deep breaths.
"Oh my God! Oh my God! A sheep! A-A sheep on a hill is speaking to me!"
"We maaaay as well get more aaaaacquainted, Maaaadam." He said meandering over. "My naaaame is Gwlân."
"Gwlân?" She looked at him speechless.
"And you aaaaare?"
"Abbey." She answered.
"Well hello, AAAAAbey!"
"Abbey! Abbey! Abbey!" A voice called and she turned to see Ben bounding over. "Look! Look!" He panted, pointing enthusiastically at the top of some mountains. Abbey looked over to see black smoke curling up into the air. It looked like it was coming from... inside the mountains...

katie Bunting    Ben opened his mouth to say something. Abbey grabbed his sleeve and pulled him away from the hallucination she had concluded was this talking sheep behind her, there was no time for this. Storm clouds began to roll over the already grey sky above the fields and the two children, dressed only in their t-shirts and jeans, felt the temperature plummet.
"Ben, what are you doing?" Whispered Abbey impatiently.
"The smoke that came from the mountains, I thought that it was just someone hiking up there starting a camp-fire or something, so I just carried on watching you. It was funny, it looked like you were talking to the sheep, it was really qu..."
"Ben, does this story go anywhere. Your panting like you ran here at a thousand miles an hour yet we're wasting time talking about me chatting with a sheep." Abbey blushed.
" So anyway, Mum and Dad had walked a little way down that path to try and find out where we are on the map, to look for a sign post or something, when i realised that they'd been gone for a long time. I walked quite far down the path to try and find them, but I have no idea where they went. looked back and I couldn't see the car anymore, the smoke from the mountains had drifted down, almost to eye level and i couldn't see more than a meter infront of me. I started to panic. I could only just see you down here so I ran as quick as I could, before the smoke could catch up with me and I lost you aswell." The boy stopped for breath for the first time in what felt like hours. He looked at his sister, desperate for some reassurance. Abbey had no idea what to do.
Abbey looked back up to the point where she had left her brother, and sure enough,a dense black fog had obscuered the view.
"And you're sure you didn't see anywhere Mum and Dad ccould have gone?" Ben shook his head. "Right so, um... OK, we'll just have to, um..." Abbey looked around in desperation, she had no idea what to do. Here were her and Ben stuck in a field in the middle of a foreign country with nothing but a talking sheep. A talking sheep!
"Gwlan!" Abbey spun on her heels, and there was the sheep.
"Gwlan? Whose Gwl..." Ben started to question his sister's sudden burst of inspiration, when his sentence was cut short because the sheep opened his mouth and spoke...

Jazzie    "Yes?" The sheep asked, looking up from his grass on hearing his name. Ben squealed and hid behind Abbey.
"That... that sheep spoke!" He exclaimed.
Abbey rolled her eyes. "I'm well aware of that thank you."
"What did you waaaant?" Gwlan asked becoming impatient, that grass was nice.
"Do you know what this smoke is all about?" Abbey asked turning her full attention to the sheep, choosing to ignore Ben who was quietly babbling. Gwlan looked lazily around at the smoke that had suddenly appeared, chewing as the thought.
"Sure I do." He said simply and lowered his head, returning to his grass. Abbey waited for a moment in silence.
"Well!?" She asked exasperated, she could hear Ben's faint voice in the back of her head 'talking sheep... sheep talking to Abbey... Mum and Dad gone... talking sheep...'
"GWLAN!" She yelled.
"AAAAAll right." He looked back up at her. "Is he aaaaall right?" He asked looking quizzically at the babbling Ben.
"He'll be fine, just answer the question." She took a calming breath.
"It'll be Bryn. He lives over the way." Gwlan gestured with his head to the source of the odd smoke.
"Ok." Abbey put her hands on her hips decisively, "I say we go and find Bryn."...

katie Bunting    "um yes ok," Ben began to try and piece the puzzle together in his head, "but who is Bryn?"
Abbey sighed,
"Ben, it doesn't matter who he is, just that he knows where are parents are and where we can find them. Will he be easy to find Gwlan?" She asked the sheep.
"Finding him should be eaaasy enough, if you haaave the right guide, that mountain is a daaaaangerous one, but there's people there who will show you around, if you can pay for it."
"Pay for it?" She questioned frustratedly, "I don't have any money!"
"Well you're just going to have to think of something, use your imagination! And anyway, it's not finding him you should be worried about, it's what your going to do once you do find him."
"worried... worrie..see I knew there'd be a problem, I.. this is not good, I don't...." Ben began to talk more and more quickly, reaching speeds almost humanly impossible.
"Ben don't be stupid, I'm sure there's nothing this man can do to us, he'll be helpful. And besides, who else do we have?" Abbey was more just thinking outloud, trying to decide if there really was another option than climbing some deadly mountain after paying sombody with imaginary money and then meeting some scary person at the top. She couldn't think of anything.
Gwlan looked up,
"sounds like a good enough plan, your only problem there would be, Bryn is not a maaan. Why do you think he's stuck on top of a mountain. Oh no not a maaan...deffinitely not... silly child, not clever... this graaass tastes good... i need a drin... Oh aaand, you have untill sunset to get to the top of the mountaaainor your screwed!"
Abbey looked at the sky, the sun was already low in the sky. 'This is getting ridiculous' she thought to herself. She grabbed Ben by the sleeve,
"Come on, we're going"
"where?"
"Shut up Ben!"
The two children left the field with the talking sheep and the ominous fog and began to climb back up towards the mountain.

Jazzie    "So Bryn's not a man? What could he be? Why were we talking to a sheep? Are we going to believe him? What if he was lying? My feet are sore..." Abbey had given up trying to silence Ben altogether, so she just let him babble away to himself. Whenever she had tried to answer a question, he would fire off the next one. She needed the thinking time any way, plenty of questions were whirring around in her own mind. Things were beginning to get silly, Abbey was half expecting a camera crew to jump out of a tree or behind a rock with Mum and Dad yelling,
"Surprise!"
And this would all be some very elaborate prank with fake smoke and a mechanical sheep. Sadly, with every step they trudged, that seemed to get more and more unlikely. The sun was creeping behind the Welsh hills already and they'd only made it a little way up the base of the mountain, what dangers awaited them? Abbey had considered walking slower to put it of. But then again what would happen if they didn't make it by sunset? Being up a dangerous mountain in the pitch black didn't seem like the ideal place to be right now.
"Abbey!" Ben moaned tugging on her arm, snapping her back to reality.
"What?" She hissed, turning to him.
"I'm tired! And I'm hungry!" He groaned and then bought out the puppy dog eyes. He should have realized now that his older and wiser sister had grown immune to that tactic when he was four months old.
"To bad!" She snapped quickening her pace.
"Let's just go back to the car and wait for Mum and Dad." Ben suggested hopefully. He had a stash of sweets there that would more than satisfy his hunger.
"No." Abbey said firmly, "Mum and Dad aren't at the car, are they?"
"But Abbey..." He moaned and she groaned, rolling her eyes.
"Look, were going to find this Bryn dude, ok? Weather you want to or not."
"But - "
"You heard the sheep!" She instantly felt very stupid and Ben began giggling. What was this world coming to?

katie Bunting    The two children got to the foot of the mountain. They looked up. Abbey sighed, she was on holiday, she barely moved off the sofa, now she had to climb a mountain!
Suddenly there was a noise from behind them.
The two children turned around. A small ginger monkey wearing a fez and a purple waistcoat jumped out of a near by apple tree.
'SHOW ME DA MONAYYY!!'
The two children turned and looked at eachother to see if the other had any idea to what had just happened. First talking sheep and now ganster monkeys in clothes.
And they had complained that a holiday to Wales was going to be boring! At this point, they would have been happier with wordsearches and day-time telly.
