Avg Rating: (5)
[Introduction] Here's a description of the organization.

Following the limit of 1-3 magical beast as
compainion(s), and chose a humaniod character for
yourself. Follow the format I'll set out adding
anything you think we need. And if I've missed
anything, go ahead and add it. Also let me know
if there's anyone you'd like to see added. Also please no killing/rapeing/hurting etc. of other characters w/o their permission.

UnioMysticaLuxMundi, or UMLM, meaning in the common tongue, the Mystical Union of the Lights of the World, is an organization of Elves, Humans, Faeries, and other humanoid creatures. Each one has at least one, no more then three magical creature companions, ex. An Elf and a Unicorn, or a Human, Dragon, and Gryffyn. Any kinds of at least semi-magical creature are allowed. The humanoids must be something along the lines of a warrior, mage or both. This group patrols areas, and fights in battles. Purely good, they only take those who are. There are several divisions: Air-this includes but isn’t limited to, dragons, gryffyns, hippogryphs, all sorts of birds, Pegasus’, winged unicorns, Sphinxes, winged centaurs, and winged varies of any creature. Next is the water creature division: Kelpies, hippocampuses, fish, merpeople, water dragons, whales, dolphins, and seals. Fire: Dragons, tigers, cats, Phoenix, Cerberuses, and any other magical creature that can survive fire. Last of all Earth: dragons, unicorns, centaurs, and any other earth creature, semi-magical, as there are far too many to list. Started by the great wizard Brondrick, along with his dragon, SkortchFeil, centuries ago, it still remains pure and intact. It’s used as a source of contact between humanoids and groups of magical creatures. Their headquarters are on a large island, in LunaDea bay, near Castle Pax Hesperus, (Peaceful Evening Star) on the verge of the Elvish/human border.

Please don't take any longer then 5 days to do your entry, or you'll be skipped. This is a large campfire, and everyones eager to get their characters posted. thanks!:)

Companions~ A talking white female Pegasus named “Lyphta” and a large white Persian cat named “Mr. Bubbles,” who, though he appears to be normal is actually a very magical kitty indeed.

Divisions~
Lyphta~ Air, Earth and Light
Mr. Bubbles~ Doesn’t appear to be anything, but he also doesn’t appear to be magical…

Magic~ Since her mother was the Faerie Queen, Jessalyn is trained in all six areas: Light, Air, Earth, Dark, Fire, and Water, but is strongest in Light.

Weapons~ Doesn’t carry any, just uses the powers that her mother trained her in.

Personality~ Sweet. She is one of the most proper ladies that anyone will ever meet, and is kind to all of those in need. Jessalyn is a very reserved person, being so polite that it is almost rude. Jessalyn keeps her distance from people, but that shouldn’t stop others from trying…

Heritage~ Jessalyn’s mother and father were the Faerie King and Queen. Jessalyn was born and raised in the Faerie Castle until she was ready to go out on her own, taking only the stray cat that she had found and the necessities that she would need. Soon afterwards, the castle was burned with her parents in it. The cause- unknown. Jessalyn soon met up with Lyphta, and the three of them have been living together ever since.

Leo Dragoness    Name: Tynsia

Age: 1663 years old

Race: Human

Sex: Female

Looks: Although she is incredibly old, Tynsia has immortal youth, so she has not changed in appearance since the day she turned 19 so long ago. Long jet black hair that falls past her waist. Very deep blue eyes that seem to penetrate those who look into them for too long. Fair of face and tall and slender, she has a sinister and decieving disposition. Those who get to know her better, however, realize this is simply a front she puts on. She wears an amulet around her neck, with a simple fireflower on it, and a red tunic with brown breeches.

Companions: Only one, a fire lizard named Skyllathia. She is small and red, with fiery eyes. Usually found perched upon Tnysia's shoulder, or wrapped around her neck. She communicates with Tnysia telepatically, by reading each other's thoughts.

Divisions: (in order from greatest to weakest)
Fire
Air
Earth

Heritage: Tnysia was the daughter of a king more than a thousand years ago. An evil wizard killed her family before her eyes, and despite her protests to kill her as well, made Tnysia immortal as well so that she would be forced to marry him. Aftr a hundred years under the wizard's domination, Tnysia discovered magical powers and killed the wizard who held her captive. Now she wanders alone, angry at the world for being immortal. All she wants is rest, but it is not coming to her for a long, long time.

Weapons: Tnysia uses her magic only in cases to defend herself. She carries no weapons, having no need of them. In times of danger, she proves to be a deadly fighter using her strength, but will not use magic unless there is no other option, because hers is so powerful.

Disposition: A lonely wanderer, she doesn't have any compainions except for Skyllathia. But she is kindly to those who get to know her well, and will not stop at anything to protect those she is with.

Draggy, keeper of equilibrium    Name: Naiya
Age: 19
Race: Selkie
Sex: Female

Looks: Her height is a respectable 5’11, most of that length contributed to her extremely long and elegant legs. She has long and wavy auburn hair that captures the eye of any male human that happens to steal a glance at her. Naiya’s eyes, a deep blue, is the color of the ocean on a calm and peaceful day. They will change color when she gets angry, to a stormy navy blue. The only clothing she will wear is her sealskin, which she uses to transform into a seal when she swims through the water. In her human form, she is a sight to behold by any man, but unfortunately, she’s already spoken for.

Creatures: A Dormir named Panna, colored a bright emerald green, with a deep fuchsia decorating her fins and the ridges along her back. (Small note: The species ‘Dormir’ is actually my sister’s creation. They look mostly like a seal, but they have the sleeker and skinnier design of a dog.)
She is also the caretaker of a dangerous Sea Serpent that dwells in the depths of the ocean. This monster, named Tempest by its master, will come up to the surface only when something or someone has awakened it from its hibernation. When Tempest does so, the damage is great and widespread by the time it goes back down to the bottom of the ocean once again.
Her final animal friend is a Kelpie named Kaelin, whose favorite shape to take is an appealing shining white horse, which would attract many a rider to a watery death. He has started to stray away from his wrongdoings, unless he is used as bait for a criminal or enemy. Kaelin and his lover Naiya have been partners in crime for the last few years, and their names have been mentioned with terror in the speaker’s voice. Those who see both a seal and a horse at the water’s edge will not be able to escape death.

What divisions: Everyone is only the water element

Weapons: A long curved scimitar, and a staff, both for physical attacks and to channel her magic through.

Magic: Water, for example, she has the power to summon the water to do as she desires, be it to recede and leave the ground bare, or to create a massive wave to wash out everything in sight.

Personality: Naiya is mischievous, and enjoys seducing young human men and playing with their minds. She doesn’t care much for other people’s emotions, and likes to fool around with them. Kaelin is very much the same way. If someone manages to hurt her own feelings, however, they become the two’s next target as far as a ‘sudden unexpected death’ goes. She is loyal only to her two animals friends and Kaelin, and will always value them over anyone else in the world.

History: When she was a bit younger, a man have stolen her sealskin one day when she was reclining on a rock by the water. She would have been forced to marry, but Kaelin managed to find her skin an hour before the ceremony had taken place. Because of this she had become bitter towards humans, and had also gotten her tendency of teasing and playing with male humans, to get revenge for what one of them had done to her.

Deekina: A small Faerie Cat, only about six inches in height with tiny wings. She has white fur with lime green stripes and eyes to match. Her powers are those of Earth, Air, and Water.
Markus: Draconis Lupus or a DragonWolf, Markus is a large wolf with features of a dragon, such as firey red scales, wings, fire breath, the gift of the tongue, plus he's only slightly smaller than a horse. His powers are those of Air and Fire

Personality:
Virtues: Usually alert and willing to help those in need of her assistance. She has much experience traveling, and is able to fit in in many places with many people. Feircely loyal to her friends, even if they don't always view her as such.

Vices: Often quick to judge others, and remains aloof, cold, and disdainful of those she views as below her. However, she does wait until they prove themselves inferior to turn the cold shoulder, and until then is watchful. She is usually quiet and something of a lone wolf, with an "I can handle myself" attitude.

Heritage: She comes from a line of dark elves well known for having dark and evil objectives, but she keeps the circumstances that turned her against her family a secret, even to herself, choosing instead to shut most of her early life. Her blood line is almost all dark elf, but she also has some of the blood of a fire sprite.

Unicrn(^-*-^)KnghtsBusy!^_^;    *Sorry I've taken such a long time to post...ok here's the deal; most of you have done your characters, if you haven’t, it's my fault for skipping you...sorry...but you’ve got your characters up, now it's time for something to happen 0.0 yay! The plot: Something’s coming, the creatures can feel it, the elements are getting strange, magic has been going amuck as of late. Those with senses that tell of such things, sense dark, foreboding things coming closer day by day. What is it? What's going to happen? It's all in our hands now...(feel free to make changes to this, sub plots are great, creativity is a must :) I can't wait to see where were going to take this. (note: for those of you that I've rudely skipped, if you like you can add your character, and do your bit of the story on one entry.) Also what with school and all, you now have roughly a week before I skip you :) Enjoy and be creative! Also feel free to contact me about feedback of any kind, as you can tell, I love to talk...:)

Blue green waves flicked up onto the shore of the large island. Trees littered the island, and the mouth of a giant cave emerged, rising up, next to a huge stable, and a magnificent castle. The castle was old, ancient even, this evident by the ivy growing all over it, giving the old grey stone another dimension, and by the old walls and towers that were slowly falling apart. Nevertheless, many considered it home and working grounds. A walkway lined by walls was in the center of the walled in courtyard. Statues of magical beasts lined the walkway leading up too the castle doors. The castle doors were large, and wooden, with gold leaf carvings and stained glass windows, depicting magical scenes and fantastic beasts. The halls were wide and roomy, thick red velvet carpet, littered with footpr-…errrr…prints lined the stone floor. The walls were laden heavily with windows, tapestries, and lights, giving the place a comforting, warm, inviting look. Doors covered the walls, hundreds upon hundreds of them, leading to who knows where. One door, in particular, stood out. Sounds were coming from under it, along with glows of a sharp odor that made your nose itch.

“Bloody Hell!” A girl stood in the center of the room, a small winged calico cat by her. A small explosion had left the ends of her white hair charred and smelling of burnt herbs and a spell gone wrong. Great, just great she thought. The spells messed up. Now I’ve got to go down into the storage room, that awful one that used to be the castle’s catacombs, and get new supplies. Damnitall!

She sighed, and left the room, asking the cat to go and get aranion or kingsfoil. Grabbing a torch from the wall of one of the many magic-working rooms, she lit it, and walked down the hallway. Arriving a good quarter candlemark later, she opened the door to the catacombs. Dark, old, musty, dusty, haunting, these adjectives flashed through her mind, she could almost feel the ghosts of those long dead watching her. Walking over to one of the cabinets, she reached in and took out a small vial of blue liquid, which fizzed to the touch. She picked up her torch, and a turned. What she saw, filled her with fear, and she left out one long scream, knowing it was futile, no one could hear her all the way down her, among the tombs…

Your entries don’t have to connect to mine, do whatever you want, start however you like, just keep in mind the basic plot, and if I need to I’ll up the rating to R. Nothing way to explicit ok? Also make your entries as long or as short as you want…have fun!:)

raiden    Darius stretched his arms as he climbed out of bed and stared out the window he looked up at the stars as he smiled.

The forest was peaceful especially under the loving embrace of Mother Moonlight.

He grabbed his bow from the table as he changed clothes and opened the door"I bet the lake is really gleaming tonight".

He smiled as he closed the door and walked down the well-lit path towards Crystal Lake.

It was even more majestic than the last time he had visited and so very peaceful.

He sat down on a large rock as he stared out towards the water"This place always seems to have a calming effect on me".

He placed his bow on the ground beside him as he threw a handful of rocks into the water.

He smiled brightly as the rocks skipped merrily along the lake's currents.

He stared at his reflection in the water as he layed down on the ground and closed his eyes.

A few moments later he heard some strange noises coming towards him"Sounds like I have some guests".

Warm-blooded Winterdrake    Name: Czarle Smith

Age: 17

Race: Human

Sex: Male

Looks: About 5'3". Very dark brown hair and eyes, hair is nearly black in dim light. Tanned skin and quick reflexes as well as being able to jump much higher than the average human. Usually wears dark pants and shirts, long sleeved or not depending on the weather, as well as black dragonhide boots. Over all this he wears a dark brown hooded cloak which helps him to be inconspicuous and can be dropped off at the first hint of a fight so that he doesn't get tangled in it. Years of wearing these clothes has increased his resistance to heat enormously, but cold affects him more than it does the average person. Wears a plain black swordbelt and sheath under the cloak.

Creature(s):
* Water cockatrice named Kliss (female). The size of a medium boa constrictor and a dark aqua in color. Can cast many various forms of water magic and can kill with a glance if she so desires. Rarely desires so because she was exiled from her home forest for that ability, and using it reminds her of that exile. Can fly (has wings) and has better sense than humans (notably hearing and smell).

Divisions: Water-Kliss
Air-Kliss

Weapons: Throwing daggers hung in a sash worn under his cloak, a reinforced titanium scimitar carried at his side in the plain black sheath, and the Moonstaff, a plain wooden staff made of an extremely dark wood and which can absorb moonlight and release it in just about any form. Usually left out at night to recharge. Czarle knows some hand-to-hand-combat but isn't very proficient at it and prefers to use his sword or staff in close quarters. Very bad at archery but very good at throwing knives.

Magic: Air and Water. Can breathe under water and can increase surface tension of water so that it can be shaped and hardened to rock-stiffness for as long as the spell lasts. Can cast levitation spells and can conjure up strong winds ranging from a light breeze to a raging whirlwind. Can understand Kliss when she speaks, but still has to speak aloud to her and she must do the same; no mindspeak (but no one else can understand her).

Personality: Usually pretty calm and inconspicuous. Easy-going but when insulted can turn into someone not to be met in dark alleyways. Or broad daylight for that matter. Always ready to have a good time, but always on alert for potential trouble. Rarely drinks and when he does it is in small amounts; he hates to lose control over himself. Has few friends because he shies away from crowds and lots of people, preferring to remain an anonymous face.

Heritage: Born and raised as the son of a weaponsmith where he learned how to use a sword and how to sling daggers with frightening accuracy. Found Kilss fighting a dragon and was nearly killed by them both before he was able to separate the two with a few carefully slung daggers. Took her home for healing (the dragon flew away) and discovered that she was intelligent and that he could understand her. They became friends during Kliss' healing time and she decided to accompany him on his travels as he had finished his apprenticeship to his father and wished to travel the world before settling down, and Kliss had no family (killed by the dragon).
Czarle's parents are both still alive and his father still works as a smith. He visits them occasionally.

********

Kliss laughed. "I told you before, you can't scare a cockatrice. And even if you could, that story was a bedtime lullaby. Seriously." Czarle simply smiled and continued circling the massive castle, searching for a way in. They had been traveling for weeks now and it would be nice to finally have a bath and eat some good food. It was all very well for Kliss, who ate her food raw, but Czarle never seemed to have perfected the art of cooking, and day after day of burnt meat gets tiresome.

Suddenly Kliss cocked her head and motioned for Czarle to be silent. She listened, then leapt into the air and over the ramparts. Czarle shouted in protest at the marks her claws left in his shoulder, then sighed and levitated himself up and over.

"Will you tell me what's going on?" He whispered to the cockatrice as he crouched in the shadows; most gaurds disliked people coming over the tops of castle walls uninvited. An arrow in the neck was not a good way to end the day.

"I heard something . . ." Kliss trailed off and cocked her head again. "Must have been nothing, after all. I could have sworn I heard a woman scream. Must have just been that creature I can hear growling down there. This castle doesn't look like there's a lot of people awake."

"Except for that room over there." Czarle pointed to the faint flickering light that could be seen through a window down near the ground. With Kliss wrapped around his neck, he slowly levitated down to check it out.

Mynt    Sorry, had a hard time thinking of something to write!! It’ll be better next time~

Sasha:

The gentle breeze brought scents to the very alert and ready Nero-Wolf who was waiting. Waiting for the right scent as for something heavy was hanging in the air and he was curious as to what it was. The leave rustled with every gust causing the creature’s ears to twitch ever so slightly. But he knew there was something out there. Quickly, he glanced to the child sleeping at his side and a smile leapt to his eyes. The forest was calm but darkness lurked everywhere. They had to escape this forest now, they couldn’t wait till dawn.

Tenderly, the creature nuzzled the sleeping boy. The child stirred and stared at the outline of the Nero-Wolf. It was too dark to see his features but the boy knew who it was. He sat up and rubbed his eyes.

::Hurry Sasha, get up my child:: the creature’s voice sounded throughout the boy’s mind. ::We must get out of the forest soon. Something is wrong, very wrong.::

“But Silence,” Sasha managed to stammer. “It’s dark and I can’t see…” He complied with Silence’s order though and rose to his feet so they could begin moving. He reached down to feel around for Silence’s fur and pet it gently. “Let’s get going then.”

::Do not worry, I will guide you Sasha::

“Yes big brother, I trust you.”

Scarlett Lane    Jessalyn stood on the dirt road, completely alone except for her two companions, Lyphta and Mr. Bubbles. She watched with a heavy heart as her village- the place she had known as home and had loved with all of her heart- burned to the ground. Her beautiful green eyes filled with tears.

Lyphta nuzzled her gently on the arm. <<We should be going>> she said. <<Darkness will soon be falling.>>

“I know, Lyph,” Jessalyn replied. She bent down to pick up Mr. Bubbles and then climbed onto Lyphta’s back. She tore her eyes away from the horrendous sight behind her and barried her face into Mr. Bubbles, his soft white fur absorbing the tears as they spilled down her face.

Jessalyn descended from Lyphta when the three weary travellers came to a stop in front of the cave that was now home to them. Lyphta wandered off on her own and Mr. Bubbles curled up into his corner. Jessalyn stood in front of the cave, the moon lighting up her face, gazing at the stars above. Somewhere, her parents would be looking up at those same stars. No, she thought. They’ll never see these stars again.

Before allowing the tears to come out again, Jessalyn forced her feet to move and took her weary, cold, shivering self into the dark cave, not noticing two stars in the sky, two new stars that had never before been seen, shining brighter than the rest of the stars in the sky.

The night outside was dark, cool, and misty. The combination made a thick layer of fog that surrounded the cave and penetrated into its dank dimness. Unknown to Jessalyn, neither Mr. Bubbles nor Lyphta could sleep; Lyphta was outside pacing and Mr. Bubbles was just sitting in his corner staring at Jessalyn…

Somewhere in a far away city, a clock struck two.

Jessalyn awoke suddenly to find herself in the darkness, surrounded by a thick mist, and saw only the dim shape of a man standing in the cave’s entrance.

(Anyone who wants to link their story to mine…just let me know…I can think of a couple ways to do this…)

Leo Dragoness    Generally at this time of night it was dark outside. But the sun rose earlier every day as spring crept closer, warming the hearts of the dull people in the small village, who had been waiting endlessly for their bleary dim world to come to life again.

Purple-golden rays slowly swept over the rooftop of the inn and shone through a semi-transparent window, finally settling onto the face of a young sleeping tavern maid and causing her to stir.

Rannah strectched and yawned. What a night! They had entertained several visitors that night, and in return were told tales of the outside world. It was spoken of in soft hushes of voices and were grim tidings, but the multitude, including Rannah, generally believed the stories to be exaggerated. They had laughed them off and mocked them, and returned to singing drunkenly. Rannah thanked whatever higher being there was that none of the men had wanted a lady for their night's stay, as visitors were wont to have. She was usually the one who volunteered for the task, and though she normally didn't mind it at all (sometimes even enjoying it), it was frowned upon by the village inhabitants and she was particulary intent on maintaining a good reputation for the moment.

Rubbing her eyes open, she rose and wiped some tables in a subdued manner. At fifteen, Rannah was fast approaching the age where she was to be married, and though it was not required for a bride to be a virgin, suitors usually frowned upon the prospect of marrying a prostitute.

I don't see why, she thought to herself in amusement. After all, we tend to have more experience. And that's all men care about.

A sudden creaking caused Rannah to fully awake and spin on her heels towards the direction of the sound. In the doorway stood a young woman. She had waist-length black hair and unremarkable features except for her surprisingly blue eyes. Rannah guessed her to be nineteen. She was tall, somewhat underdeveloped for her age, and held a weathered look. Around her neck was curled a red lizard-like object that was unfamiliar to Rannah.

"You're in rather early," she commented as she cleared more dishes. "Don't get much visitors in the morning."

"I'm unusual then," the women replied softly in a clear, almost musical voice and sat at the bar. "You'll still serve me, I assume?"

"Of course. What can I do for you?"

"Strongest you've got." The woman turned away and looked down at her hands, turning them over absentmidedly.

Rannah mixed up a drink and set the amber liquid before the strange woman, who, without even casting it a glance, tilted her head back and downed the glass in one gulp. Her curiosity getting the better of her, Rannah asked, "Where did you come from?"

The woman cast her a sharp glance and said nothing. Her lizard creature hissed and bared reptilian, pointed teeth. Then the woman's features softened, and she closed her eyes as though in concentration. "All night without hard liquor never does me well," she said, not directly answering the question.

"I've always been a believer of the philosophy that something light to start off your morning is a better plan," Rannah said, slipping into her usual talkative mode now that she had begun a conversation with the stranger. "But whatever suits your fancy." She refilled the woman's glass and pushed it towards her, asking, "What's your name?"

"I suppose it can't hurt you to know," the woman mused as she grabbed the glass and sipped from it ponderingly. "I'm called Tynsia."

"Tynsia?" Rannah frowned in concentration, "I've heard that name before..." Then she suddenly smiled knowingly. "I know! Tynsia was the eldest daughter of King Morpheous of the King of Galred, over a thousand years ago. You must be named after her."

Tynsia narrowed her eyes. Rannah was beginning to wonder whether she'd said something inappropritate when another movement caught her eye. One of the visitors from last night was stumbling into the parlor, clearly still woozy from the excessive amount he'd drunk last night.

A crashing sound soon followed, and Rannah jumped as the glass was flung against the wall and shards and splatters of liquor dropped to the ground. She turned to see Tynsia wielding a menacinglook in her eyes and in a fighting stance. Her animal held an identical murderous glare. "You never told me that he was here!" Tynsia spat at her in a shout of fury.

"I didn't know I was supposed to." Rannah was furious at this woman's sudden display of anger, but decided that for the sake of safety was best not to demand an apology just yet.

Tynsia held Rannah's gaze evenly for ten seconds, then slowly the outrage left her body, and a troubled look settled into her eyes. She reached to her shoulder to stroke and console her lizard, who hissed and settled.

"You couldn't have known." She turned away. "I shouldn't have been so bloody idiotic. I can't blame you." Her eyesight refocused on the scared hazel eyes of Rannah, then she looked back at the drunken man. Finally Tynsia nodded decisively. "Come with me if you wish to live."

Rannah wasn't sure what it was that made her put down the dishrag. Perhaps it was the tone of authority in Tynsia's voice. Or maybe the frank honesty that seemed to radiate from the woman. Or maybe because she herself was intrigued. In any case, Rannah came towards Tynsia, who breathed deeply in what was perhaps relief; the two exited the inn into the newly dawning day, and Rannah blinked stuidly, unsure of what awaited her now.

Okay this sorta sucked... but I spewed it forth in twenty minutes, so it's pretty decent given the time I was alloted. Better next time, I promise!

.Wolfie.    Katalia Lunaris sighed, wrapping her tanned arms around the Dragon Wolf's neck. They wandered through the woodlands, no destination in mind, but their wanderer's nature not letting them stay in one place for too long. A tiny faerie cat lay on her back, batting playfully at her long white-blue hair. They made something of a strange sight, but they had been traveling for a few hours straight and exhaustion was taking over, though the wolf was better off than the others. If need be, he could stay at a steady lope all day.

"There's something coming," Kat whispered, somewhat to herself. A grumble sounded in Markus' throat, and one gold eye peered back at the drow elf. Of late, things had been feeling odd, as if the natural order of things were being disturbed. There was something dark rising, and she wasn't sure what it's cause was. Perhaps it was time she headed back to LunaDea Bay. It had been a long time since she had checked back at the headquarters of UMLM.

Sighing to herself, she pulled out one of her throwing knives and began to sharpen it with a whetstone. Markus carried her along stoically, though she could tell that he wondered when they were to stop. Deekina was probably asleep.

As if sensing her thoughts, the tiny winged cat climbed up onto her shoulder and began licking her ear. The drow elf chuckled to herself.

>>Will we be stopping soon?<< the wolf asked, his voice echoing in her mind. Kat nodded, somewhat distracted by the now playful kitten.

"I want to get as close to LunaDea as possible. These disturbances are worrying me greatly."

>>Understandably so,<< he answered. They grew quiet, and Kat fell into quiet reflection. She had been traveling with the DragonWolf since she had left her own family behind, but the years before she didn't like to think of. She had been a worse person there, and it was hard to face others knowing what she had done, so long ago. That was part of the reason she didn't get close to anyone anymore. It was safer that way.

Unicrn(^-*-^)KnghtsBusy!^_^;    She reached for one of her daggers as the thing drew closer and held her stance, shaking slightly as it advanced.

The thing was large and dark, it looked to be some sort of demon, with scaly skin and huge claws and fangs. It glowed with some sort of unextingushable fire from within, and the air fairly reeked of magick around it. Dark magick. It slashed at her with a steely claw, making a noise of a howling banshee, and she dodged it...just barely.

What's a demon doing here? she wondered, keeping a careful eye on it as she slowly backed up, we've got some of the strongest defenses in the world against dark magick!

The demon made another awful noise, as it tried to cut her apart once again, but she ducked and rolled, trying to get back up to the stairs. She bit her lip and wished despertly for her long bow. Air magick or earth wouldnt be much good against a demon. None of her magick would be, she wasnt all that skilled, and it was!

She reached out with her mind, and just as she thought she'd connected to someone, the creature struck her on the shoulder, and she fell, unconcious. She never saw the door, far above on the stairs open and someone come in...

gryfter

Brand landed on Caleb’s shoulder, his talons biting through the thick cloth of Caleb’s cloak and grazing the young elf’s skin.

-Ouch- Caleb pulsed.

-Sorry- muttered Brand, though Caleb caught the hint of humour in his voice.

-I need one of your feathers- Caleb told him.

-Why?- asked Brand.

Swiftly, Caleb explained the dream and the appearance of Sarissa, his mother, and also, what he planned to do next.

-Caleb, no!- Brand was obstinate, -What you are attempting is old magick. You do not have the skill…-

-If I don’t,- said Caleb – Then we’ll know soon enough for I’ll be dead. You didn’t hear the scream Brand. Whoever this girl is, she’s in dire trouble. We haven’t the time to make the journey to Lamothrace. She’ll be dead by the time we reach her. This the only way.-

Brand’s next mind-pulse was short, brutal, to the point and actually woke Stalker.

-What is happening?- asked the massive panther.

Caleb explained again, irritated at the loss of time. But Stalker didn’t share in Brand’s apprehension.

-Do it!- he said.

Before Brand could complain again, Caleb swiftly plucked from him one of his crimson feathers. Then he set a small cauldron on a tripod over the fire. He added water from his pouch and crushed a few leaves into it from a small package he removed from his shoulder sack. He quickly stirred it, and when the mixture was grainy, he dropped in the phoenix feather and unsheathed one of his daggers. Holding it to his palm, he split the skin and allowed a few drops of blood to drip into the mixture, which bubbled red. He removed the cauldron and allowed it to cool for a few moments.

-Okay,- he told Brand and Stalker, -Until this is done my body will lay here, seemingly dead. I’ll be vulnerable, I’m relying on you two to keep me safe.-

-We know, Caleb- said Brand, affectionately, -Don’t get dead!-

-I won’t- Caleb smiled.

-Peace be the journey, young Prince- said Stalker.

Caleb lifted the cauldron, casting a apprehensive look at its strange contents, then he drank, and the world collapsed.

-He’s doing it…” said Brand, sorrow in his voice.

“What?- asked Stalker.

“Following his blood!- Brand spat.

“He’s the last in line of the oldest monarchy in history,- said Stalker, -It breeds duty. He is the Prince!-

-More than he knows- muttered the phoenix.

His spirit broke free of his body with an almost audible snap, like the shattering of chains and he soared, high as the clouds. For a moment, Caleb was lost in the wonder of the feeling of freedom. His eyes were sharper, his hearing exquisite and he could see the land spread out below in all its glory. Then he remembered the girl, and his mission, giving a silent prayer of thanks to the Mothers and Fathers that the potion had worked. He fixed the image of the castle in his mind and sped across the land and over the sea to Lamothrace. He spied the castle below and descended to the spot where he had seen the girl enter the catacombs.

Presently, he reached the door and extended his hand to grip the handle. His hand passed through it as if he were made of mist. Cursing softly, he willed himself solid, knowing full well the danger he now faced. For though his body was still asleep under the guard of Brand and Stalker in the forest, his spirit could yet be slain. Bracing himself, he opened the door. In an instant, he took in the scene before him. Down a flight of steps and across the room, was the girl from his dream. She was backing away from a massive demon that closed slowly down on her.
Caleb didn’t hesitate. He pulled one of his many throwing daggers and flipped it with all his might. It hit the creature hilt first at the base of its skull and with a roar of annoyance, the creature turned on him. Its movements were slow and by the time it turned, Caleb was already halfway down the steps. He flung himself feet first at the demon and caught it in the torso, sending it sprawling into the wall. With elfish dexterity, He sent another dagger winging on its way, which caught the creature in the throat. He unclipped his Sabrewings from his belt, two half-sabres, embedded in lengths of leather and began to spin them almost nonchalantly. He turned to gaze upon the girl.

“Don’t worry,” he said casually, “I’ll be done with ugly here in a moment. Then we can talk.”

He took a step toward the creature who had ripped the dagger from its throat and was now bellowing in rage.

“Oh, shut up!” said Caleb, contemptuously.

He swung the right hand wing in a backhanded arc, following swiftly with the left along the same trajectory. Both ripped straight through the creature’s neck and it dissolved in a mess of smoke and slime.
Caleb calmly clipped his Sabrewings back ono his belt and retrieved the daggers. Only then did he turn and get a good look at the girl, when the shock hit him like a blow. Her hair was white, with a dashing black streak and one of her eyes were white. But still, it was like gazing into a mirror. Only a blind man could fail to see the resemblance in them. Caleb could see that she too, had recognised this.

“I’m… I’m Caleb…” he muttered, then, remembering his manners, he added, “Son of Sarissa and David, Prince of the Elves and heir to the Throne of Imajin.”

Lamely he extended his hand, and she gripped it. He could feel the tawny strength in her.

“Dalyna,” she said, “It thank you for your timely intervention,” then a hint of suspicion crossed her face, “How did you know I was here?”

Caleb blushed, then told her of his dream, the appearance of the Queen, and his spirit journey from the Forest of the Elves. He left nothing out, and when his tale was done, she was looking at him, wide-eyed.

“What does this all mean, Caleb?” she asked.

He shook his head, “I don’t know,” he admitted, “But you need to come with me.”

“Where?” she asked.

“To Imajin,” he answered, “We need to have a chat with my mother, the Queen.”

raiden    Darius stared at the girl for a few seconds as he stepped inside and bowed his head.

"Who are you?"the girl asked in between shivers,Darius smiled as he replied"I'm Darius who are you?"

"My name is Jessalyn"she extended her hand as Darius reached down to kiss it"Get away from her!"

Daris turned his head as Lyphta appeared before him"Get away from her hethen!"

Darius stared at him as he released the girl's hand and sighed"I take it he's with you?"

Jessalyn nodded as she smiled"Yes his name is Lyphta"Darius nodded as he smiled.

"Well I thought I heard some voices so I decided to come and investigate"Jessalyn smiled as Mr.Bubbles layed down beside her.

"Oh this is Mr.Bubbles"Darius nodded as he smiled"Would you like to meet my 2 friends?"

Jessalyn nodded as Darius smiled"Follow me then it's not that far ok?"Darius helped her up to her feet as they stared at one another.

Warm-blooded Winterdrake    By the time Czarle reached the storage room, the two elves had left and the room lay mysteriously trashed.

"Perhaps you were hearing things." He said to the hovering Kliss. She glared at him and, despite their long friendship, he flinched. It isn't good when a cockatrice glares.

"I do not 'hear things,' Czarle. They obviously left already. And, since no one is here," she continued more brightly, "Howsabout checking out that pantry I saw on the way here?"

Czarle looked at her disapprovingly.

"Oh, all right. Can't blame me for asking. Come on, this place creeps me out."

"Ah hah! So cockatrices can be scared!"

"Hey, I didn't say I was scared. Just creeped out." The two friends continued to argue as they exited the dank store room to continue on their way.

Leo Dragoness    Rannah grew increasingly tired as the day wore on. Tynsia, who now seemed to be her traveling partner, kept a very brisk pace going. Wherever they were headed to Rannah knew not, but it seemed to be far away and the young woman was not used to exercise; she was ready to stop after the first hour, by the second she was extremely worn out, and by the third she wasn't even paying attention, just blankly setting foot before foot and not thinking about the pain.

Every now and then Rannah considered asking Tynsia for a temporary halt, and each time she dismissed the thought. True, she didn't know much of Tynsia, but she had a feeling the woman would not take well to such a plea. Truth be told, Rannah was somewhat scared of her, and didn't want to risk having to face those blazing sapphires, full of fury, directed straight into her. Tynsia's glare had served a purpose, perhaps unintentional, of stupefying Rannah into obeying her.

By midafternoon, however, it was clear that Rannah could not last any longer. In her dazed state, she tripped over an outstretched tree root and fell facedown onto the ground, immediately blacking out.

It took a while for Tynsia to realize that her companion was not following her anymore. Grumbling, she backtracked and saw that Rannah had collapsed.

^^I believe she's fainted,^^ Skyllathia hissed silkily as she jumped lightly off Tynsia's shoulder to land on the girl's head, inspecting her face closely.

"Stupid girl," Tynsia muttered as she crouched down to join her reptilian companion. "If she was tired, then why didn't she say so?"

^^You silly human,^^ Skyllathia chuckled silibrantly, earning herself an annoyed glance from Tynsia, which she chose to ignore. ^^Can't you see you've scared her into complete submission?^^

"Oh, and as if you're helping," Tynsia snapped. "I doubt she's ever seen anything like you before, and if she's like most girls her age you're terrifying her."

^^Poor child,^^ the fire lizard said in a sympathetic manner, gently using a miniscule claw to brush hair out of Rannah's face. ^^Can't you do anything about her?^^

"I can't do something as insignificant as this. I can heal the wounded warrior, save the poisoned king- but I can't help a bloody idiot girl who's unconscious!!"

^^Don't upset yourself,^^ Skyllathia frowned up at the irate Tynsia. ^^She's not used to traveling all the time like you are, and with you acting the neurotic leader I'm surprised she lasted this long.^^

Closing her eyes, Tynsia breathed lightly through her nostrils. "She'd better get used to it. I can't be held down by a child."

^^Then why take her?^^

"I can't risk her talking. If word got out I was seen..." she shuddered ominously.

^^He saw you, you know.^^

"I know," she replied in irritation, "I'm not brainless. Hopefully he was too drunk to register who I was."

^^What if he wasn't?^^

Tynsia smiled grimly. "Then you, I, and the little pretty here-" indicating the prone form of Rannah, "-will be chased halfway across the world until they catch us, upon which we'll be brutally tortured and eventually killed."

^^An inviting prospect.^^ Thinking, Skyllathia suddenly scowled up at Tynsia. ^^That was selfish of you, to drag this innocent girl into your scheme,^^ she berated her soundly.

"Undeniably," and for a moment Tynsia actually looked slightly guilty. Then the moment passed and she continued, "If all goes well, pretty here'll get back home safely and quickly."

^^Oh, be quiet,^^ Skyllathia said contemptuously, ^^I don't believe that for an instant and I know you don't either.^^

"Well, what does it matter in the long run anyway?! If she'd've stayed and talked- which she would have, I'll have you know- they would've killed her on the spot then left for me!" Tynsia yelled, her eyes blazing furiously.

Anyone else who had seen those eyes directed at themselves would have soon intimidated into deference. Skyllathia was able to stand her ground, but could see the harsh wisdom in her friend's words. ^^I suppose you're right,^^ she admitted reluctantly, then paused. ^^We shouldn't have stopped at the tavern in the first place.^^

"Do you really think so," Tynsia replied in a voice heavy with sarcasm. She turned to face the direction from which they had came, then said, "We can't linger, even if pretty's out of it." Taking a breath to clear her thoughts, Tynsia hauled up the prostate form and into her arms to carry. "Got to keep going."

And so they moved into the fast-approaching night, somewhat more slowly than Tynsia might have hoped for, but steadfastly continuing ahead all the same.

Draggy, keeper of equilibrium    “I love the view of the ocean from here…” she trailed off, gazing forward at the soft lapping of the waves on the rocky shore of the beach. The full moon shined brilliantly down on the water, illuminating the surface and giving it a crystalline look. Lying on her stomach, she looked out in silence at the water, her head rested softly on her white arms. The fine, coarse fur on her sealskin felt cool against her abdomen. Her hair, dark and damp from seawater, hung in curving waves down her naked shoulders like strands of seaweed. Her eyelids drooped slightly as she took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. “Isn’t it beautiful?”
“Not as beautiful as you, Naiya,” Kaelin reminded her, running his fingers through her hair. She smirked and stretched her arms and legs along the length of the large rock she rested on before rolling over onto her back. She looked up at her man with a sly smile on her face.
“No need in trying to seduce me; you’ll get what you want,” she assured, slipping her hand behind his neck to pull his head down towards her. They shared a long and passionate kiss before Naiya broke away to look at the water again. The calm surface of the water was disrupted as a small figure breached out of the water. A few seconds passed before the head poked out of the water; Panna yipped in greeting.
“Darn… I didn’t think the chaperone would find us here,” she said, laughing slightly. Kaelin bent low and growled in her ear, gingerly biting the top of it before traveling towards the earlobe.
“Like I care that she’s here to see us,” he teased. His fingers ran along her bare skin and Naiya couldn’t help but laugh at his touch. A sound in the woods near the beach caught her ear and she stopped, raising her hand to signal Kaelin. That wasn’t needed; he had heard it too.
“Sounds like we’ve got a poor soul just waiting to be tortured,” she whispered, the blue in her eyes growing darker. She crept to a nearby tree, Kaelin’s arm wrapped around her thin waist. She didn’t bother to pick up her sealskin.
“I hear two voices,” the man noted, listening closely. A wider smile appeared on her lips.
“All the more challenging.”
They both peered through the trees, seeing who it was that traveled down the forest path. Before long a man came into view. Yes, there were two voices, but one of them was unintelligible. The man appeared to be talking with a creature who was coiled around his neck; Naiya was just able to see in the moonlight that it was a cockatrice. She could hear what the man was saying, but the creature’s voice wasn’t like anything she had heard before. She figured this man must have the same connection with the cockatrice as she did with Tempest. They were discussing the large meal they had managed to steal from the pantry of a castle nearby. Naiya and Kaelin crept closer, preparing their element of surprise.

Unicrn(^-*-^)KnghtsBusy!^_^;    I'm not posting this time because I just noticed that most people only have 1 or 2 additions...so I'm going to give them time to catch up. Sorry to inconvience anyone!Smile Oh and if you haven't already done a bio block, please, do one on your next post and you're welcome to add the story too it as well. Uhm...I'm just filling up space here to meet the minium requirements...so just thanks everyone, and enjoy the campfire, feel free to e-mail me with comments, suggestions, questions anything....that better be 400 characters...and I think that's it, have fun!

raiden
Darius smiled a little as Lyphta interupted them"Could we move it along?"

Darius released Jessalyn's hand as he nodded.

"Just follow me ok?"they nodded as they followed Darius to a beautiful clearing near the creek.

He stopped a few feet from the creek as he whistled loudly.

Soon a huge ruby dragon appeared before them"Met my friend Astrax".

Jessalyn smiled a little as she replied"He's magnificent".

Darius smiled a little as the waters began to move and out popped a huge head from beneath the water's surface.

The huge Hydra stared down at them as Darius folded his arms.

"And this would be Nolaster"Jessalyn stared at both creatures as she smiled.

~*~Hello campfire buddies, this is Unicrn(^-*-^)KnghtsBusy!^_^; , I convinced cyril to let me use her addition to post this message to you. This campfire isn't really going anywhere, and I'm thinking maybe it should just be started over, or killed. So, please, on your next addition tell me what you want to happen to this...should it stay as is? Start over with same characters and a new plot? Start over and keep the characters? Keep the plot? Be killed? Please tell me which option, or another idea on your next post....thanks alot!*Bigsmile* (^-*-^)~*~

Leo Dragoness    Hello all! And because Cloudwolf suggested it, I am going to let my views be known.

I have written many times... however I don't seem to play all that huge of a role either. So if the campfire is scrapped, I'll be slightly bummed but I'll get over it. (Which reminds me that I've never told anyone that they have permission to link their story to mine... so everyone, you have permission now... just email me first mmkay?) Where was I? Oh yes. I say keep trying to get the campfire moving 'cause it has potential, but if it really isn't gonna work, then kill it... or start over.

Everyone else's thoughts on this matter??

-LD

Draggy, keeper of equilibrium    Well, it the story seemed like it had a good idea. I mean, a big group of diverse people fighting for the good of their land. I wouldn't be too depressed if this was ended, but I might use my character for a different story just cuz I like her ^.^
Maybe I can make a few suggestions on how to make the story better? You don't have to follow these; I'm just making a few ideas in case you don't decide to completely scrap this story and just revamp it:
I think there may have been too many individual plots going on. Granted, that's great if this was a huge novel with a well-thought-out way of how everyone would meet up or join their stories to everyone else's. But, since this is a campfire and this is one of those things you do on the fly, it might be better if we had some people grouped together from the beginning; less scenarios, easier way of keeping track of everything.
Er... I think I was going to say something else but I can't remember right now...
Oh yeah! Make sure that all the elementals are balanced. I mean, I did a tally to see which element was lacking so I could try and even things out, and I found that many, many people were choosing the air element, while ones like the water especially were being quite neglected.
Well, I have to go now, and I hope this thing accepts my addition even though it isn't really 1000 characters... ok bye!

.Wolfie.    -+-I think you should just start over. I like the idea, but I made a character that I personally didn't care about and I skipped myself more than once. u_u But I hope you restart so that I can try and participate again. It's not a bad idea, but I don't like my character, don't care about them, and I was sorta lost as to what else was going on. I hope your restart it and if you do, I would like to join again. ^_^ I like your campfires.

Gah, that was less than 1000 characters. Anyway, my point hasn't really changed. I like the idea. I like writing bioblocks too. *Bigsmile*. And maybe I can come up with a character I actually care about this time. That would be kewl. It wouldn't hurt to elaborate on the plot just a little too. But your plotless campfires seem to work as well. I think part of the problem is that when this was going on, the "manage campfire" thing was established, and the adding order got really mixed up. So, I suggest restarting. Is this 1000 characters yet?-+-

Unicrn(^-*-^)KnghtsBusy!^_^;    Okay, this campfire's history, and I'll start a new and improved version of it within the next couple days, adding you guys backSmile
