Would you like to be a published children's author, and have proof of your publication? Would you like your work to be required reading at an educational institution? Well, this is your chance. A Korean English Academy is seeking short children's fiction for publication in an English reading textbook series. If your work is chosen you will be published in one or more of the books and sent an author's copy with your work in it. Also, submissions from Writing.Com members will be eligeble to win one of three prizes:

1st: One First Place Ribbon of your choice given to the winning item, plus 200,000 Gift Points.

2nd: One Second Place Ribbon of your choice given to the winning item, plus 150,000 Gift Points.

3rd: One Third Place Ribbon of your choice given to the winning item, plus 100,000 Gift Points.

We are primarily looking for material suitable for students anywhere from Preschool up to upper Elementary in English ability. We do have students of all grade levels, however, so work appropriate for higher level students will also be considered. All entries must be rated 13+, ASR, or E. E and ASR entries will be given preference in terms of publication.

Entries of 1000 words or less are the optimal length, although longer works will be given consideration.

Preference will also be given to works that are complete in themselves, although excerpts from longer works will be considered.

Please read the first posting in the forum, labelled 'TERMS' for futher information, and submit any entries in bitem format in a reply to the 'TERMS post.

Contest is scheduled to end August 31. Prizes will be awarded by September 30th under this schedule. All submitted work will be reviewed at that time.
