BEGINNING, MIDDLE AND END CONTEST

For this contest I would like you to write a short story using the three prompts I give you as the beginning, middle and end of your story. That means the first line, last line and something in the middle.

A FEW RULES

* All entries must be newly written for the contest.

* All entries must use all three prompts in the correct places, beginning, middle (or thereabouts: I won't be counting the words until you use it) and end.

* Entries must be between 500 and 1500 words. Please include a word count with your entry.

* Entries may be edited up until the deadline, but anything that is edited after that time will be disqualified.

* Please proofread your entry carefully because I will be judging on writing mechanics-spelling and grammar-as well as on the story's content.

* Please use the Bitem format for submitting your entry (eg. {bitem:item number})

* The contest will close at midnight on September 30th.

PRIZES - I've just had a windfall, so prizes have increased!

First prize: 15,000 GPs.

Second Prize: 7,500 GPs

Third Prize: 3,500 GPS.

If there are less than five entries, Only a first prize will be given.

Here are the prompts for round six.

Have fun!

BEGINNING The light was bright enough to sear patterns into your vision.

MIDDLE Explosions lit up the night sky and the city appeared to wink.

END Nothing remained but the puppy, its damp wet nose poking curiously into everything.

Please allow two weeks for judging and handing out of prizes. I will review every entry as a part of the judging process, so even if you don't win, you will get a thorough review.

Huge thanks to the generous supporters of this contest:

As there were only three entries this round, there is only one winner. Congratulations!
